Philippine Idol vs Pinoy Dream Academy

Ang pag-atras ng Philippine Idol sa katapat na programa sa dos na Pinoy Dream Academy ay hudyat lamang na nagwagi na nga ang huli sa head-on collision ng dalawang imported reality talent search programs. Our survey even says it loud and clear, 69% prefers Pinoy Dream Academy and only 31% prefers Philippine Idol.
It’s very ironic because in the US it’s a totally different story. American Idol is the phenomenal hit and Dream Academy is a major flop, in fact, the show was even cancelled.
The factors contributing to the lack-luster performance of Philippine Idol are:
a) ABC 5 can only reach parts of the Philippines, mostly in Luzon only and other cable channels while ABS CBN’s signal is loud and clear in the whole Philippines and in other countries with the TFC channel.
b) Pang-”masa” ang Pinoy Dream Academy while pang-”elitista” ang Philippine Idol (at least that’s what people are saying).
c) In Pinoy Dream Academy, most of the people is ok with the result because the organizers have control on who they think the televiewers want to remain in the competition (They even set a new rule in order to achieve this goal). In Philippine Idol, the organizers do not have control on the results that’s why the televiewers are getting furious every week that the best contestants are eliminated.
But now, i think ABC learned their lesson. They changed the voting scheme to 2 hours from the original 24 hours span. They changed their time-slot, at least loyal viewers of PDA can now watch Philippine Idol on a Sunday night.
Let’s just hope that it’s not yet too late for them to bring out the ”phenomenal” out of this idol show. Tayo lang ata ang bansa na hindi nag-hit ang brand idol, para bang the only country in the world where the no. 1 fastfood chain is NOT McDonalds.

I just can’t believe it… I watched PDA once and never again. I found no real singing talent, the presentation is amateurish and even the emcees are forgettable. Be honest, is this a bias opinion? Just asking… Philippine Idol is way ahead of PDA in every aspect of a production presentation…and contestants’ talents…

they’re both OKAY….but I really want na marami pa ang sumusuporta sa Phil Idol…kc sinusubaybayn ko kc ang American Idol.,at naaaliw ako sa mga kanta nila..dito sa phil. idol gusto ko sana na suporatahan natin ito,,maganda rn nmn ang RP idol kya lang hndi lang nkakapanood ang “ibang” mga tao na nasa bahagi ng vis at min. dahil nga malabo…pro ganun pamn mas naaliw ako pag nanonood ako ng phil idol pati na ang american idol//. sikat ito sa ibang bansa,,kailangan dn natin pasikatin ito dito sa atin…

Well for me, Philippine Idol is a world class! parang American Idol this is one of the talent show in the philippines kaya lang malabo ang signal sa mindanao gusto sana nilang manood dito.
To: abc5 pls! make it loud and clear at least 50,000 watts kasi sayang naman ang show!

ay juice ko day! icocompare nyo ng PDA @ PI, dun na lang ako sa PI (Philipphine Idol) kasi mas may itsura yung mga finalist ng Philipphine idol kay sa Pinoy dream academy. yung mga finalist ng pda ang papangit
yung isa si panky mukhang silahis na bisexual, tapos si rosita mukhang bangkay na malapit na mag agnas, tapos yung isa lalaki na pda finalist mukhang ex convict atchaka hindi ako naniniwala na pda finalist nag compose yung mga kanta nila eh sa iba pinagawa yon! @ pinapalabas na totoo cla nag compose.

I agree, I watch american idol and i enjoy it, pero when i watched Philippines Idol? kahit yund sa 7 na? nakakadisappoint, grabeh naman copycat, wala man lang paano naging Philippine Idol un? eh parang american idol yun na iniba lang mga tao, ndi man lang lagyan ng kakaiba na tatak pinoy? Whats the sense ng salitang Philippine Idol? kung wala naman tatak pinoy? Isa pa anu naman napatunayan ni jolina? at bakit siya naging judge? ok naman sila ogie at wingard pero jolens? I have nothing against jolens? pero sana kumuha sila ng tao na mas may K! nasa 7 nman si regine? or jaya? di ba?

In terms of hosting skills HINDI naman talaga magaling si TONY at Marielle kasi they sound like “PALINGKERAS,” kailangan ba talagang mag-sigawan? Hanggang saan ba nila gustong marinig? Sa Timog? Sa GMA para mabingi sa dami nang mga taong nanonood sa kanila na karamihan naman ay Jologs at squatter.
Si Nikki ok naman siyaa pero pang-MYX lang talaga siya kulang siya sa personality in comparison sa dalawa na OA na talaga.

well i like tony and marielle more than nikki, and more than that raimund and karylle of GMA… sobrang nkakatawa kc ni marielle at tony mag host, d gaya sa kbila.. OA mag host… d siya appealing sa masa
kung pag uusapan naman ang mga talents ng PDA at Pinoy Idol, well 10-1 ako jan.. 10 sa PDA at 1 sa PI.. obvious na un! well actually d ako masyado fanatic ng PDA 1, pero PDA 2 eh, kakaiba tlga.. gagaling nila..!
Sa judges naman, ha eh, grabe sa comments palang ng mga judges eh walang kwenta sa siyete.. sa dos, naku nakakatakot tlga si geral salonga, kasi may credibility siya, and same with the othere jurors of dos, pero sa siyete.. please omg, Jolina?? and Ogie?? and Wygard??
