Ever since we introduced Lee Dong Wook even before My Girl starts airing in ABS CBN, he’s been heavily admired by Pinoy fans visiting this blog. The proof? Our post entitled Heartthrob Alert: My Girl’s Lee Dong Wook on May 27 is still the all-time most commented post with 308 comments to date. Our fan blog dedicated to Lee Dong Wook has also attracted almost 20,000 visitors. So why do Filipinos love this guy, he’s not even the most popular actor in Korea?

Philippine Idol Final 3: Jan, Mau and Gian
Miguel Mendoza’s journey ended Monday night in a very surprising result show in Philippine Idol. This leaves us with the final 3: Jan Nieto, Mau Marcelo and Gian Magdangal in a triple bout for the title at the Araneta Colliseum on December 9.

Catherine Untalan is a 20-year-old 6 footer beauty who has graduated cum laude from the University of the Philippines. She made us proud recently by her quick wit in the question and answer portion of Miss Earth beauty pageant. Eventually, she won 2nd runner-up in the pageant participated by 82 candidates from around the world. Beauty and Brains, Catherine is our No. 64 Most Beautiful Filipina.

Handa na ba kayo para sa Super Noypi?
Ngayong Pasko, magsasagupaan ang mga pinoy superheroes sa takilya: isang bading na naging Superwoman (Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah), isang ordinaryong lalake na nagkaroon ng majika (Enteng Kabisote) at siyempre, 6 na kabataan na anak ng pinoy superheroes at iyan ang Super Noypi. Maikukumpara ang Super Noypi sa animated series na X-men Evolution kung saan ang mga bida ay mga kabataan pa lang na nagsisimulang madiskubre ang angkin na kapangyarihan.
Super Noypi’s cast are from both Kapuso and Kapamilya. They are Jennylyn Mercado, Mark Herras, Katrina Halili, John Pratts, Polo Ravales, Sandara Park and Andrew Muhlach.
RP Students Top 2006 World Robot Olympiad

3 High School students from Batangas representing the Philippines emerged as champion in the 2006 World Robot Olympiad. The robotics team of First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH) in Tanauan City, Batangas bested 30 other entries from 20 countries— including the Robotic expert countries like Japan, South Korea, Russia and Singapore. The team is composed of Kim Marco Perez, 14, Dan Joseph Garcia,13 and Francisco Gabriel Nunez, 14.
Kubrador Wins in Rome Filmfest

Kubrador (The Bet Collector) has won it’s 9th international filmfest award, this time the Special Jury Prize at the Seventh Asiatica Filmmediale in Rome competition for Best Asian Feature Film. Joji Alonzo (producer) said Kubrador placed second in the entire competition.
Jeffrey Jeturian’s Kubrador has the following awards so far: 2 Fiprescis (critics award), 2 Best Picture awards — one from New Delhi filmfest and the other from Cinemanila and 3 Best Actress awards for Gina Pareno.
Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Lilipad Na

When i bought the comic book Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah by Carlo Vergara last year, never did i imagine that it will become a musical play and will later turn into a movie! The comic book is highly entertaining so i’m sure the movie adaptation would be a blast.
The comic book is a satire of the all-time favorite pinoy superhero Darna with lots of humor, action and, yes, homosexual romance. The story is about Ada (Rustom Padilla), a typical parloristang bading who receives a mysterious stone that when ingested, will turn him into a powerful voluptuous superwoman named Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah (Zsa Zsa Padilla). His best friend Didi (Chocolate) is the one who convinced him to swallow the stone as large as a pomelo. Ada’s love interest is the kind-hearted adonis named Dodong (Alfred Vargas). While his alter-ego Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah’s arch-nemesis will be played by Pops Fernandez.
Chile is Miss Earth 2006

It was a spectacular night of mind, body, heart and soul as the Miss Earth 2006 pageant at the National Museum, Manila has chosen the newest ambassador for the environment and she’s no other than the stunning Hil Hernandez from Chile. Hil bested 81 contestants from around the world in the most competitive batch ever for the battle of beauty and brains. And it’s a little ironic that Chile is supposed to be the host of this year’s Miss Earth.
