The magical song finale of Mau Marcelo‘s rendition of On My Own by Whitney Houston yesterday was translated into votes that makes her the first Philippine Idol.

Mau Marcelo gets P1,000,000.00 cash and P1M non-exclusive contract with ABC 5, a recording contract from Sony BMG and a management contract from Freemantle’s assigned company. Rumors has it that Mau, our first Philippine Idol, will compete with several idol winners from other Asian and Pan-arabic countries for the title of Asian Idol.
