22-Year Old CSR is First Jackpot Winner in ‘Deal or No Deal’

The two-million peso briefcase in ABS-CBN’s top rating game show “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” hosted by Kris Aquino has finally been handed over to a bank customer service representative, Terry Lim Cua on Friday The twenty two-year old CSR bagged the highest winnable price on Friday. Earning almost P9,000 a month with his job, Cua did not expect to bring home the two-million.

“I’ve told a friend that in my twenty two years of existence, I’ve lived without millions. It doesn’t matter kung wala akong mauwi (if I come home with nothing). At the end of the day, this is just a game,” he said.

Tension filled every household in the Metro when the two last briefcases containing the highest amounts (P1 million and P2 million) remained unopened.

The banker’s last offer was valued at P1.4 million. As expected, Cua declared without hesitation “No Deal!” knowing that the possibility of bringing home P2 million is soaring high.

Cua is the first ever two million-peso winner since the show dominated the air waves in June 5 of this year.

Hosted by Kris Aquino, popular TV and movie personality and widely recognized as the country’s ‘Queen of Talk and Game Shows’, the ABS-CBN show has been running for thirty weeks now. Over 150 players have participated, two of them have gone home as new millionaires.

The game’s objective is to open briefcases containing varying amounts ranging from P1 to P2 million. Twenty six briefcases are initially presented to the player. The player then chooses one briefcase as his own. When all the other briefcases have been opened, the banker will offer the player an amount attempting to match the average of the values still hidden in the remaining briefcases. Host Kris Aquino then asks the question: “Deal or no deal?”.

The popular program was franchised by ABS-CBN from Endemol, the same Dutch production company responsible for creating such hit shows as ‘Big Brother’ and ‘Fear Factor.’ The highly successful “Pinoy Big Brother” is the ABS-CBN franchise of Endemol’s ‘Big Brother’
