Double Victory for Enteng Kabisote 3 in MMFF: Top Grosser Na, Best Picture Pa!

Before the festival started, i was expecting that the four movies of Mother Lily will vie for the Top 4 placements in the box-office simply because of its “maka-masa” themes in 4 different flavors, Mano Po 5 (romance), Zsa Zsa Zaturnah (comedy), Shake, Rattle and Roll 8 (horror) and Super Noypi (action-adventure). Among the 4, Super Noypi is my pick for the top spot because first—it’s for General Patronage, anyone can watch it; second—it appeals mostly to the kids which are the major customers of MMFF because kids are pocket-filled with pamasko this season; and third—because of the extensive promotion of Regal Films for their 4 entries specially with Super Noypi. I thought sawa na ang tao sa Enteng Kabisote. I also thought the movie Tatlong Maskara (i’m not even sure if that is the title) will be at the bottom.
From these ‘expectations’ i mentioned above, i was correct with the last statement because it’s a no-brainer. Tatlong Maskara (again, i’m not sure if that is the title) is indeed at the bottom of the box-office. The rest—I’M WRONG.

The two-million peso briefcase in ABS-CBN’s top rating game show “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal†hosted by Kris Aquino has finally been handed over to a bank customer service representative, Terry Lim Cua on Friday
The twenty two-year old CSR bagged the highest winnable price on Friday.
Earning almost P9,000 a month with his job, Cua did not expect to bring home the two-million.

Just when we thought that X-Men and Jurassic Park ended on its 3rd sequel, the box-office franchises for the two said films are being resurrected in 2007.
X-Men executive producer Lauren Shuler Donner talked to LA Daily News about X-Men 4, for which they would have to renegotiate with the bigger stars, and also the spin-offs Wolverine and Magneto.
Survey Says Filipino Men Are Twice More Vain Among Asian Men

A survey conducted in six countries in Asia and the United States showed that Filipino men were twice more likely than their Asian counterparts to value good looks and spend time and money on grooming.
While a considerable number of Asian men felt that looking good was “neither important nor unimportant,” 58 percent of Filipino men thought it was “very important,” according to the survey conducted by global market research company Synovate Inc.
