Chris Sligh – Trouble
February 28, 2007 by cd · 2 Comments

Chris Sligh sang “Trouble†dedicated to his wife. He has a gorgeous voice, i kinda remember Brad Pitt through his voice and i don’t know why. I miss the personality, maybe he’s playing safe for now.
Randy Jackson said “It shows that you’ve got that big voice.†Paula Abdul said “Watch you pitch a little bit. Other than that, you’re awesome.†Simon Cowell said “Chris, the reason we put you through to this round is actually we thought you were a very good singer, and tonight you were a very good singer.â€

Phil Stacey – Missing You

Phil Stacey sang “Missing You†dedicated to Navy Band Southeast. I kinda remember Chris Daughtry when i hear his voice, they both have a powerful quality to it. Maybe that’s why Simon hit him with the “unoriginality” issue. But he’s good!
Randy Jackson said “That was hot, Philman.†Paula Abdul said “I can hear you right now on the radio.†Simon Cowell said “I think you have a completely unoriginal voice.â€

Jared Cotter – Let’s Get It On
February 28, 2007 by cd · Comments Off

Jared Cotter sang “Let’s Get It On†dedicated to his mom and his dad. Jared’s “hotness” can assure him of the top 12 placement. And there’s nothing corny about his performance (Simon said it was partly corny), i think Jared’s a star!
Randy Jackson said “I loved that whole face move.†Paula Abdul said “You’re a good looking guy, you really are.†Simon Cowell said “It was a bit corny in parts.â€

Starstruck Dramaflicks with Lorna Tolentino – Leakage Part 1
February 28, 2007 by cd · 5 Comments

Here’s the gist of this dramaflicks: All of them are honor students except for Prince which is Lorna Tolentino’s son. Lorna is their teacher. Prince found a copy of the final exam at her mom’s office. He shared it with Aljur and the leakage spreads to the rest of the class, well except for Stef whose role is the sumbongera.
I like the story, may social relevance siya. Their acting was ok but there’s still room for improvement. Galing talaga ni LT.
The Aljur-Rich-Kris love triangle is better than the Jewel-Mart-Paulo, or maybe it’s because of their roles. Mas may substance kasi yung roles nina Aljur & co. kesa Jewel and co. na parang pa-cute lang. Bagay pala kay Stef maging kontra bida. And as for Prince, mas bagay na role siguro sa kanya yung tipong inaapi hehehe. But he’s ok din naman.

PBB2: The One When They Missed Their Lunch
February 28, 2007 by cd · 2 Comments

Big Brother talked to Ezekiel and told him that he and the rest of the housemates should eat their lunch on but not before 12:00 noon and they should be finished by 12:30. But the problem with Ezekiel, he thought “alas-dose” means 2:00 pm and told his co-housemates that they should eat at that time. Consequentially, the confusion cost them to skip their lunch, their very first lunch.

Nel: Parang lahat ng housemates dito pang main dish ang mukha a. Parang ako lang dito ang pang-appetizer…it’s ok, they’re beautiful, the’yre handsome, you’re UNIQUE man!

Nel:What’s your height?
Ezekiel: 6’1″ ako.
Nel: Wow you’re so tall and so handsome. You have everything, you’re perfect!
Ezekiel: Pero wala akong girlfriend.
Nel: Ows, walang girlfriend? (Chance ko na to, bongga!)

Spotlight: Lakisha Jones
February 27, 2007 by cd · Comments Off

Lakisha Jones is a 27-year-old single mother and bank employee who hails from the blue-collar city of Flint. Her life dream is to make it in the music business and now that she’s one of the Top 10 girls in American Idol, she’s a step closer to this goal. Her “And I Am Telling You You’re Gonna Love Me” performance last week earned rave reviews from the judges. Even the meanguy Simon Cowell gave her the highest praise of the night saying Lakisha is on a different league.
“I just believe in being real, being who you are and staying strong in your beliefs,” Jones said on the video.
Jones says the performer she most admires is Whitney Houston, who has had her share of ups and downs. She also identifies with Fantasia Barrino, a single mother who won in the show’s third season. But her voice was often compared to Aretha Franklin.
Lakisha started singing when she was just 5 years old at Flint’s Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She says her proudest moment is giving birth to her daughter, and lists her mother and grandmother as her heroes.
Jones wants to win, but is trying to keep it all in perspective — and knows what she would do if she’s cut: “I would probably go back to working at my bank and back in the routine of taking care of my daughter every day,” Jones said. “Just being a mom.”
