Lakisha Jones sang “I Have Nothing.†I really like it when a contestant has the gut to pick a Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera or Celine Dion song because you know that she’s taking a big risk and increasing the level of difficulty with her performance. And with Lakisha’s rendition of I Have Nothing, the ‘yo’ factor finally surfaced.
Randy Jackson said “Another great performance by the great Lakisha.†Paula Abdul said “You’ve already made us love you. You don’t have to run anywhere. You’re going to stay right here, and you’re going to work on being the next Idol.†Simon Cowell said “What we haven’t seen tonight, but you brought: passion, talent, believability, and of course the yo factor.â€
