Spotlight on Melinda Doolittle

Melinda Doolittle is a twenty-eight year old back-up singer from Brentwood, Tennessee. She started singing when she was on 7th grade and she took up music major in College and some vocal lessons. Melinda’s personal goal in life is represent Christ well and do everything 150% She said her lucky charm is the Bible and that she always pray before she performs. She said her idol is her mom.
Before her audition, Melinda had such a level of excitement that she had to sit on her hands to keep them from shaking. Randy Jackson said on her audition, “This girl today that was really shy that was a background singer, sings with Mandisa a lot, and she auditioned and she was the bomb.â€
Simon Cowell said “Melinda, we have a lot of people who come in here with a lot of attitude and a lot of confidence, and they’re not very good. You walk in with no confidence, no attitude, and yet you are a brilliant singer…a brilliant singer, seriously, you know you are what it’s all about, a great voice. I’m concerned about the lack of confidence about the fact that you’ve been in the background, but let me tell you, you are in the top two percent of good singers this year.â€
Since day 1, Melinda has consistently impressed the judges and now, America and the whole world as well.

Melinda have the great talent which we need to have good world in music. She must win for she had the promises or the performer that have the figure that may make the world in comfort. Melinda we love you!!!

I am from South Africa and we are two weeks behind the actual live show. We at home luv Melinda and hope she wins because she can sing anything rock, pop, r&b and hip hop. Yes she really reminds us of a much younger version of Gladys night and she will make it to much greater heights. My mum is 65 and can’t wait for the show which plays once a week on a tuesday and thursday evening. She has spark, personality and everything it takes to become the next american idol. By the way we hav’nt missed one season, even though we behind schedule
