Lakisha Jones vs Mau Marcelo – Diamonds are Forever

As promised, here’s the face-off of two idol divas from west to the far east: American Idol’s Lakisha Jones and the first Philippine Idol Mau Marcelo. Without being biased or anything, i think Mau’s version of Diamonds are Forever is more exciting and exhilarating. I guess the arrangement has something to do with it (Watch the video and compare for yourself).

I think, Lakisha’s performance was more classy. The arrangement of Mau version of the song was a little bit weird for me. I don’t know?!

Wow…this comparative spot is impressive. Thanks for the ingenious idea of this website’s creator. It showcases the amazing talent of our Filipino singers compared to the rest of the world. For me, Mau had a more stylish outfit, stronger voice quality and more emotional drama in her interpretation of this song. Well done Pinoys! Be proud to be Pinoy!

i really like the songs of the two idols they have their own version and styles of singing. but the most fitted to the song is mau marcelo our very own.

@ ian_kalabaw: Malamang naririnig mo na ang single ni Mau sa Love Radio at Yes FM. “On My Own” ang title. May CD_Lite na ring na-release last January, at umabot sa #14 among OPM albums on that month according to Odyssey album sales. Her full-length album will be released within the year.
