The Mart Escudero CR Scandal
March 25, 2007 by cd | 209 Views
Actually, i missed this episode last night dahil Pinoy Big Brother 2 was shown at a later sked after Maalaala Mo Kaya. That’s why every Friday, sabay ang PBB2 at Starstruck. I thought wala nang “newsworthy” shots last night sa Starstruck dahil recap na lang daw ang ipapalabas that’s why i stick with PBB2…but i was wrong. The biggest bomb was exploded at the very last episode and it’s the Mart Escudero CR scandal which i’ve just watched from Pinoy Rickey.
Here’s the video courtesy of Pinoy Rickey:
Based from the video, ito ang pagkaka-intindi ko sa pangyayari na naganap noong Linggo, March 18, before the live telecast of Starstruck:
1. Kumalat ang isang video kung saan nakunan via camphone ang isang staff ng Starstruck sa comfort room inside the cubicle in a “compromising” situation.
4. Later on, Mart admitted to the Starstruck director na siya nga ang kumuha ng video.
5. Ipinatawag si Mart ng GMA management regarding the issue. The first decision was to disqualify Mart. Pero nag-apela ang kampo ni Mart that’s why instead of disqualifying him, makakatanggap na lang siya ng demerits from the points na ibibigay ng council.
6. Mart asked for forgiveness from the Starstruck staff na kinunan niya ng video and promised not to do it again.
As you all know, I am Mart’s no. 1 fan (kung may kokontra, sige no. 2 na lang). Since the beginning of Starstruck, i am always vocal about my admiration to this survivor because i see a lot of promise about him. And now that the Mart Escudero CR Scandal has finally shown on national tv, here’s my take about the matter….
I was also surprised na HINDI disqualification ang ipinataw nilang parusa samantalang mas malala pa ito sa Ronnie Liang incident last year sa Pinoy Pop Superstar kung saan disqualified si Ronnie for not telling the truth about having an existing contract.
For sure, Mart is out of the running. Aljur and Prince’s fans have all the right to celebrate as early as NOW because i have this gut-feel na both of them are already assured of a title, either Ultimate Hunk or Ultimate Loveteam. Technicality na lang ang awarding. Kung in case na manalo si Mart as Ultimate Hunk or Ultimate Loveteam with a partner, mas lalong hindi maganda ang magiging implikasyon nito.
ANO ANG MASASABI KO SA PANGYAYARING ITO?
I am really disappointed. First time ko pa naman na-”starstruck” but now the admiration i have for Mart was gone. Nada. Zero. Blank.
THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE. And GMA saved the best damaging moments sa mga artista ng Starstruck (na ilang buwan na rin nilang nabuild-up) for its last episode.
It’s not GMA’s fault. But it could be ABS CBN’s gain if they disqualified Mart (remember Ronnie Liang?). But then again, lose-lose situation ito sa GMA. The reality side of Starstruck has taken it’s toll. Pero artista search din ito at the same time kung saan GMA spent time and money building future Kapuso stars. Aljur or Mart could be the next big thing but after the episodes this week, do you think magiging BIG stars pa sila of 2007?
But after watching how Kris and she assasinated Jewel’s character on national tv, nawalan na ako ng gana. As for Jewel, honestly, bumaba ang pagtingin ko sa kanya after learning all the dirt na ibinato sa kanya nina Rich and Kris. They are biting each other just to win the money?! My point is, GMA na rin ang dahilan ng pagkawala ng “kinang” ng mga future stars nila. They should decide kung ano ba talaga ang Starstruck, a reality show OR a star search? If both, then there are disadvantages.
On the other hand, ganito naman talaga kadumi sa showbiz. But on the negative side, they’ve just lost one Starstruck fan (one lang naman hehehe).

Hi…first of all, let me tell you that I’m a huge fan of your Starmometer website for its wide-range of entertainment options and user-friendly navigation of your site.
Now I’m even more impressed with your objective analysis of what was shown in the final episodes of SS4. As you concluded, it is just fair and logical that ALJUR and PRINCE will WIN tonight, along with a tight race among the 3 girls.
GMA7 has disregarded the feelings of its SS4 contestants and its viewing public by exposing it all.
Now, this can looked at as their honest and brave attempt to be fair and objective or their blatant attempt to generate more publicity and interest in the show’s final judgment episode tonight.
We will never know the producer’s intention or exactly what went on behind the scenes but what we know is that, like any business, their decisions are based on a return to their huge capital investments.
And as an organisation, they have an ethical and moral obligation to protect their staff whether they are stars or production assistants.
I think what SS4 showed us is not only how they hone their talents but also how these teenagers are going through their adolescence right infront of the public’s eyes and scrutiny– these teens are challenging boundaries, making mistakes, falling in and out of young love and learning about relationships and most importantly, learning about themselves on what is right and wrong in this world.
And as a fan and a viewer, we are affected, not just whether we still like the contestants or not or admire or despise the show, but how it makes us see ourselves and the society we live in.
The show reaffirms our own views about ourselves. But it also questions our own values and experiences. But most of all, it keeps us watching and entertained. And that is what TV and reality shows are all about.
Thank you for continuing to be our eyes and ears in the entertainment world. And as you alluded in your final sentence, we will move on to the next show and the next stars….

No Khris Ethanne, thats my opinion. Kay Chuvachorva lang yung video. Disappointed lang talaga ako kay Mart.

Hello CD! We understand how you feel. Gusto ko lang din sanang i-share sa ‘yo ang ilang inside stories na nakalap namin about this incident.
The incident (’yung pagkuha ng video) happened in Davao and a lot of the avenger friends of Mart will attest na talagang biruan ‘yun dahil nilalandi sila nu’ng gay reporter na siyang kinuhanan nila ng video sa CR. Apparently, after the video was taken, may kumuha ng cell ni Mart from the staff and kinopya na nga daw. Last March 18 ito ipinakita ni Mart dun sa reporter na supposedly ay kabiruan nga nila and ok lang ang reaction nito not until makita nu’ng certain girl from the production staff na nakakita ngayon ng chance to get back at Mart at inudyukan ‘yung reporter to file a complaint.
Anyway, not that we want to pass the blame to anyone, kung nasobrahan man si Mart sa pangungulit, he paid dearly for it. He was humiliated on national TV plus a demerit of 10 points from the council votes na supposedly ay pinaghirapan niyang i-earn through his talent. He was sorry for what he did and sana bukas ang puso natin sa pagpapatawad.
Congrats to Mart for still winning an ultimate title despite the demerit points.
CD, sana you can reconsider and still support Mart Escudero.
Thanks!

much have been said about this incident but there are important details that are still to be laid to the viewers or will forever be hidden ’til forgotten. i just wonder what was the motive of airing this incident on the very last day of Starstruck when the video was taken way before March 18? i just hope those manipulative staff of the show who were apparently motivated by their interests really had their day in putting down Mart. i know Mart learned his lessons the hard way.
Mart, as I have told you last Saturday during your rehearsal break, you can put this incident behind you and move on. God is our ultimate Judge.
Congrats again for winning an ultimate title despite the demerit points!
Starmometer, I know you’re disappointed but we hope you can consider and continue supporting Mart. God bless!!!

By the way, hindi nabanggit ang incident na ito during the Thursday last statement episode with the council because MART was just called to report to the GMA office on Friday afternoon, March 23, about four hours before the motorcade. The Thursday episode was pre-taped either after the March 18 live telecase or after they taped the laglagan sessions with their co-survivors. Dubious ang timing ng pagputok ng issue na ito on the very last day of Starstruck lang when the video was supposedly shot before March 18 and the video sharing incident apparently happened on the 18th at the dressing room. Wala lang. But of course, whether the “conspiracy theory” is unfounded or what, still it’s not an excuse on the part of MART — but again, he had apologized and was heavily penalized with demerits on the final council score — on the score where he worked very hard just to gain merits. Thanks and more power!
