Phil Stacey sang “Maria Maria.†I don’t get it why the judges won’t cut Phil some slack in their criticisms for him. Although Phil’s confidence is a little wounded, hence the cracked note at the end, Jlo got goosebumps because Phil has a rich voice that is very suitable with his song choice. Overall, i say it was a good vocal. Just a little demerit in the end.
Randy Jackson said “You didn’t quite for me connect with the passion in that song.†Paula Abdul said “Vocally, I thought with the exception of just the end there it was a real good vocal.†Simon Cowell said “I found no originality in the performance. I thought it was all a bit lifeless, a bit flat, your voice cracked towards the end, so there’s nothing I can get particularly positive or excited about to be honest with you.â€
