Kirby Ann Basken: Mutya ng Pilipinas 2006, Now Miss Norway 2007

Last year’s Mutya ng Pilipinas winner, Kirby Ann Basken, represented our country in the 2006 Miss Intercontinental and placed in the top 12 semi-finals. Now, she tops the Froken Norge or the Miss Norway contest besting 23 other contestants and will represent Norway in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant.
When she was still in the Philippines, she worked as a model and appeared on various tv commercials (like Bingo, Johnson’s Baby Cologne and KFC) and tv shows (like ABC 5’s Teka Muna with Joey de Leon). Right now, she’s taking a qualifying year so that she could enter university and major in Psychology and the Social Sciences. Her dream is to work with children and teenagers with psycho-sociological adjustment problems. During her spare time, she likes to write. She’s written several articles for the website Youth for Youth and for the radio station P4’s Guru. She’s also hosted a radio program “Tinig Pinoy†for teenagers in Norway. Kirby enjoys dancing, climbing and spending time with her friends.
Kung sumali lang sana siya sa Bb. Pilipinas, she could stop the dry spell the Philippines is experiencing in Miss Universe since 1999 if ever selected for that pageant. Her beauty is perfect for MU. If not for the citizenship issues and Araneta’s no-mestiza policy in Bb. Pilipinas-Universe, she could have opted to represent RP again. Well i guess RP’s loss is Norway’s gain.

Less than pretty? She’s multi-titled so how can she be less than pretty? She’s Miss Philippines 2006, Miss Norway 2007 and semifinalist in Miss Intercontinental. So she must be beautiful. She just cried when they took that picture. Give the girl a break. She is beautiful. Check her pictures here:

i dont like ms. norway. i think she\’s ugly. the judges didnt wear their eyeglasses at the pageant. people who voted her are very stupid and has no taste with. she sucks!

Sorry to say, shes not so pretty, and not so Filipina looking. Asian men like girls with white skin, so no f\’ing mirakle she won Miss Philippines 2006, all it takes is a lot of skin whitening chemicals to win that. Filipinos dont know how to appreciate the natural beauty of Filipina girls, for them natural brown is ugly, for Europeans the skin-white ones are pangit and brown is beautiful. Natural white is good anyway, just like natural brown is beauty, i think Kirby Ann is halfblood, so at least shes probably natural.
Anyway, looks are not that important, at least NOT to become miss Norway (proof: Mona Grudt from Norway became Miss Universe and one cant deny shes definitely not among the most beautiful misses). To become a miss you need to be professional in talking/answering, and performing your best at all times. One has to be smart and skilled, beauty alone has never made anyone miss in Europe the last 50-60 years. So Kirby Ann has got what it takes anyway! Congrats for that, quite an achievement.

she used to date my best Friend and cheated on him for this other guy who coincidently was my brothers friend.She got busted at the end filling her courters ear’s with lies lies lies.The fact that she won in Norway was all a big setup! She’s far greater less looking than half the contestants in Froken Norge,and she has now become so big headed about herself.If you go out in Oslo you’ll see her making out with more than 1 guy a night,not bad for pinoy pride..huh? Anywayz as a half pinoy myself i dont look at her as a role model..and neither should any other girl out there.

That was not very nice of you to say that KAB is a slut. She is pinay, right? So – pinays enjoy life and may be flirty but that is the way of pinoys also. They are worse to cheat on their spouses than the ladies. Most of them have queridas/second wifes or goes to MP\’s regularly.

just like any other halfbreed european pinay. i think most halfbreed from phils are not that pretty like halfbreed from thai,vietnam or indonesia.pinay always have plain looks and look all the same
