This year’s official representative to the Miss Universe pageant proves that the real essence of beauty goes beyond aesthetic perfection.
A true embodiment of brains and beauty, Anna Theresa Licaros is more than your usual sleek stunner. While commanding a very attractive presence—standing at 5 feet 9 inches, with enviable vital statistics measuring 33-25-34, Tere has got more than the usual beauty queen’s roster of achievements. The current Bb. Pilipinas Universe graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Broadcast Communication degree from the University of the Philippines and is presently an incoming junior at the UP College of Law, where she is also among one of the top-ranking students of her batch.
Yet amidst these feats she has achieved at the very promising age of 22 she manages to keep herself grounded with simple aspirations. “I eventually want to pursue family or criminal law, focusing on the rights of children, particularly juvenile delinquents,†Tere confesses. She says that she also wants to espouse the protection of childrens’ rights as her advocacy during her reign as Bb. Pilipinas Universe. “I believe that with my title, I would be able to reach more people and make them listen,†she adds.
Tere is the eldest and only girl in a brood of four, the daughter of Andy and Mavic Licaros. She maintains an active lifestyle by mountain climbing and keeps her brain busy with scrabble, sudoku, and backgammon. She is also an avid reader and collector of fairy tales. The Philippine representative to the Miss Universe pageant also wants to pursue a career as an educator at the University of the Philippines, the state university that she believes has helped her define her character and has bestowed upon her a sense of concern for the underprivileged.
Tere is one of the three Binibining Pilipinas 2007 title holders crowned recently. Known as the country’s most prestigious pageant with four decades of glorious existence, Binibining Pilipinas is responsible for sending the official Philippine representatives to the three different international pageants recognizing excellence beyond beauty worldwide.
Armed with a string of triumphs in her native land, Tere is all set to compete against 80 representatives in a bid to bring home the country’s third Miss Universe crown. She will undergo further training, focusing on personality development and catwalk skills, prior to competing in the 56th annual Miss Universe Pageant to be held on May 28 in Mexico City. The Miss Universe Organization is committed to increasing HIV/AIDS awareness by focusing on women’s health and reproductive issues. By forging relationships with organizations committed to research and education, Miss Universe intends to make an impact on society by addressing today’s most pertinent issues.
Indeed, with her commitment to advocacies that matter combined with real Filipina beauty, Anna Theresa Licaros does her country proud as she rides forth into a highly-anticipated pageant featuring the most beautiful women on the planet.

i think we have a very huge chance of winning the title, all she needs to make sure is to be included in the top 10 and i know that everything will be history, she has it all, she’s very intelligent and beautiful…

yes. o well.. i think that if she’s in the top five i think she can answer all those questions easily. cause she’s a bright person and fluent in speaking.. and that in my opinion.. the answers of the top five contestants were not that good.. hehe. ^_^ adieu

I think bakit di sya na qualify for top 15 dahil she doesnt have a good exposure during the events and her answer in interview its good but usually all Filipina candidates same las icaros was not able to impress the judge, not like Japan that her answer is realistic, short and very specific
