American Idol – Top 7 – Country Music Night

It’s country music night on American Idol and guest mentor Martina Mcbride helped some contestants make country music their own.

Melinda Doolittle and Jordin Sparks received rave reviews from the judges. Their solid take on country music were two of the most applauded performances of the night. It may be safe to assume that these 2 divas will never be eliminated tomorrow nor hit the bottom 3.

Unfortunately, one diva is in danger tomorrow and she’s Lakisha Jones. Her version of Carrie Underwood‘s “Jesus Take The Wheel” revealed her vulnerability. But of course, she doesn’t deserve to get the boot tomorrow but hitting the bottom 3 is highly probable.

The finalist who made an impact tonight is Phil Stacey. Although many are anticipating his exit tomorrow, his memorable rendition of Keith Urban’s “Where the Blacktop Ends” might save him and put him in the final 6 next week.

Chris Richardson‘s “nasal” argument might cost him some votes. Country music isn’t for him and neither for Sanjaya Malakar whose rendition of “Something to Talk About” isn’t worth discussing.

Blake Lewis‘ take of “When the Stars Go Blue” is a little safe. But the “whole package” comment from Paula assured him a spot on the final 6.

Let’s see our “starmometer” for the top 7:
