Walang Kapalit – First Impressions

Walang Kapalit is a tv adaptation of a Mike de Leon movie entitled Hindi Nahahati ang Langit which starred Dina Bonnevie and Edu Manzano. This new teleserye from ABS CBN starring Piolo Pascual and Claudine Baretto tackles the complicated theme of “step-siblings” falling in love. Directed by Wenn Deramas, this teleserye is another drama about “star-crossed lovers” – ang paksang gustong-gusto naman ng mga pinoy. Hindi ba’t no. 1 ang Sana Maulit Muli at no. 2 naman ang Maging Sino Ka Man?
Pero alam na natin ang mangyayari dito, sa simula “against all odds” ang pagmamahalan nila. Sa bandang huli, kakain lang sila sa Jollibee, they will live happily ever after na! Hindi ako magtataka kung ang katapusan naman ng Maging Sino Ka Man ay magkakasundo sina Eli at Jackie sa tulong ng My Marvel Taheebo tea and capsules. So sa Walang Kapalit, alam na natin ang ending – magkakatuluyan din sina Noel (Piolo Pascual) at Melanie (Claudine Baretto) with the help of 555 karne norte hehehe. O libreng ads yan ha!
Kidding aside, the first episode was not bad. Mabilis ang pacing niya at mahusay ang pagkaka-direk. I think i’m gonna find myself watching this series every night kagaya ng pagtutok ko sa Sana Maulit Muli (kahit na pinaghalong Final Destination at If Only ang plot niya) at Maging Sino Ka Man (the best drama series that we had in a long time). Ewan ko ba kung bakit hindi ako ma-hook sa Aeon Flux-y na Rounin.

I watched the “Walang Kapalit” last night with my husband and my 7 year old grandaughter and I honest to goodness say that it was worth all the wait for this much awaited teleserye of Piolo and Claudine. The young Melanie and Noel were so cute especially the young Melanie. I like her, she reminds me of the girl who stars in Flordeluna. The story started nice and fast faced. Now, I am glued to the screen again with Piolo coming back in the television screen.

h! avid viewers of walang kapalit. I’m one of you!!! da best talaga ang teleseryeng ito kasi kakaiba lalong-lalo na ang akting nila, hindi ba?

sobrang idol ko si piolo, lht ng movie ny pinpnoood ko khit s teleserye ang laks kc ng appeal ny s mga kbbaihn llo n s mga bdings..ang hindi ko lng maintindihn kung bkit isinli p si tj durano s teleserye kse kmukh siya ng x bf ko.anyway bilib din ako s acting ni tj durano ..sn blng arw mmeet ko cy ng personal..

This soap starts to get into my nerve. The actors and actresses are all excellent performers. However, the plot needs to be improved. What I cannot understand is why Noel (Piolo) cannot separate himself from Cynthia (Jody). Even though Cynthia’s act is already annoying. To the script writer(s), please make some sense. Don’t waste the talents of the casts.

What a useless show! Umiikot na lang sa bata ang last parts. Duh! The kid is four years old. Pag pinilit syang tumira kay Claudine malilimutan niya rin pag laki kung ano man kunong trauma ang makukuha niya. We\’re Filipinos, for God\’s sakes! We whack our kids with broom sticks to straighten them up. We must not subscribe to the dumb American way of parenting lest our kids grow up to be dumbasses and our prison population balloons to 2 million.
