Jordin Sparks – You Never Walk Alone
April 26, 2007 by cd

Jordin Sparks sang “You Will Never Walk Alone.†This is probably the first time America heard this song as a competition piece. I remember when our very own Regine Velasquez sang this in the Asia Pacific singing contest in Hong Kong wayback in 1989, the whole auditorium was blown away. It was really nice to hear it again as a competition piece. It was the best song choice of the night.
Randy Jackson: “I think that’s one of the best vocals by any contestant ever on this show, ever in six seasons, and it’s from someone that’s seventeen years old.†(I believe the best vocals by any contestant ever in six seasons was Kelly Clarkson’s rendition of Natural Woman)
Paula Abdul: “You sure picked an amazing song to close the night.â€
Simon Cowell: “Well, unlike Randy, I thought you were fantastic.â€

I like Jordin, but I feel that it wasn’t as “pimpable” as Melinda and Phil’s performances. Well, let’s just wait and see the eliminations later.

I think the best vocal on the entire Idol history is Katherine Mcphee’s ‘Somewhere over the rainbow.’ It’s not just the best vocal, it’s the best performance by an idol too. Her rendition is so flawless and every American Idol addicts were blown away!!!(It’s just my opinion!!!!)
