American Idol Top 6 – Night of Rock

This week’s theme is rock music and Jon Bon Jovi mentored the Top 6.

Tonight’s show is very crucial to the six remaining contestants because 2 of them is leaving tomorrow. And guess what, the leaderboard has changed and got all mixed-up! Last week’s no. 1 is this week’s weakest based on performance. I guess it’s up to America who they’d like to see in the final four based on their over-all assessment of the contestants from the beginning until tonight. I also think that tomorrow’s result has nothing to do with tonight’s performances because if you will ask me, all of them stepped-up their game except for one being pimped by the AI producers who fell from first place to last place tonight. I believe she/he will still be safe tomorrow. And you know who she/he is don’t you?

Let me rank the top 6 based on their performances and based from the judges’ comments, who i think were honest and fair tonight:

1st: Lakisha Jones – This Ain’t A Love Song – The kiss from Simon is far from being a “Judas kiss”, it’s a hit! She should be safe tomorrow)

2nd: Melinda Doolittle – Have A Nice Day – We already know she’s consistent. She should be fast-tracked to the finals!

3rd: Blake Lewis – You Give Love A Bad Name – His personal arrangements combined with exhilirating beatboxing were a hit! Blake’s already a one-of-a-kind pop idol.

4th: Phil Stacey – Blaze of Glory – Although his performance was the most compeling and most applauded of the night, the negative comment from Simon and being the first to perform put him in greater risk of elimination.

5th: Chris Richardson – Wanted Dead or Alive – Chris delivered his personal best but being out of his comfort zone, he’s been outclassed by the other finalists.

6th: Jordin Sparks – Livin’ On A Prayer – Tonight she’s the (clear) weakest link. But she might have gotten a lot of votes last week with her “You Never Walk Alone” performance (probably the best last week) that will save her from eliminations tomorrow. The judges are expecting her in the finals remember?

So who will be the next two to go home on American Idol? This is tough. This could be shocking. If Jordin’s not going home, it could be Lakisha or Phil or Chris or even Blake. I am confident that Melinda Doolittle is the only one we can predict to be safe tomorrow. The remaining 5 are in danger of eliminations.
