people really are making something for their own interests… they tried to show us a supposed “reality show” but that’s just all a facade!!!!!!!!!! where’s the credibility of providing a fair judgment?

We’ve been reading a lot of, supposedly, conspiracy theories lately in threads whether it be here or sa PEX or wherever else. I’ve always taken them with a grain of salt.

Well, today some old friends whom I’ve worked with before, visited me at my office. They’ve been working for Channel 2 for the past 2 or 3 years now. Out of respect for my friends’ privacy (and job security), I am going to avoid mentioning their names and gender. Hindi maiwasan na I would ask them about PBB2, because I am naturally curious about the show and the naglipanang haka-haka about recent events. In itemized form, here is what ‘ve learned from them:

-(pinagalitan nila ako) Don’t waste money voting daw, because it is RIGGED ang RATINGS always come first before the amount of votes (the money generated from this is just a bonus for ABS dahil mayaman na sila, besides Cellphone networks ang talagang nakikinabang dito). Sabi ko, “eh di sayang pala pag-vote ng mga tao”. Hndi naman daw kase atleast may pagkukunan pa ng sweldo nila (half-meant na joke).

-Jeremy is supposed to be inside the house instead of Bodie, but Bodie has “kapit”.

-It really all comes down to RATINGS. And that is all there is to it. Not the text votes, not how much a housemate is loved or hated. Your e-mails do not matter, they are most likely to be ignored anyhow. Kahit mag-rally pa kayo sa harap ng ABS, hindi nila tatanggalin si Wendy hanggat humahatak siya sa ratings. Actually, matutuwa pa nga daw ABS pag may nag-rally sa harap with matching banners and placards kase mas conroversial, mas – all together now – mas mataas ang RATINGS. PBB thrives on conflict and controversy, mas madami nanonood, according to their researchers pag marami nito. Ng mawala daw si Wendy ay bumaba ang ratings – as in bumulusok pababa. AND PBB lost most of its MALE viewers too, because Wendy is, sort of the *** icon in PBB2. Let’s face it ang mga guys manyak sa mukhang “game” na babae kesa sa mga wholesome-looking. ABS wasn’t expecting na baba ang ratings nila when Wendy left, but they had to find a way to bring Wendy back into the PBB house, and yes, panakip-butas lang sila Zeke, Kian and Jasmine, no offense sa mga fans. Kahit di ako makapaniwala, my friends told me na madami nanonood ng Brendy moments. Pang “masa” kase sila. Sa kanila nakaka-relate ang mga poor. Di maka-ride ang masa with the likes of Gee and Mickey. Most of their supporters are middleclass and upperclass. And we know that the masa vastly outnumbers the middleclass or the upperclass. And let’s face it, *** sells – or atleast the idea of it. Gee-Ann and Mickey as a loveteam is too wholesome to be controversial. Majority of the masa viewers are not into “kilig” moments, but more into kontobersiya.

-THe Big winner will never be someone with “may kaya sa buhay”, pag mahirap ang nanalo pogi points for ABS nanaman sa masa. Grooming nila to be the big winner right now is Wendy(as long as she keeps the ratings up) or Nel (kase poor). Arguably, Bruce is poor too, pero plus factor na may “star quality” daw si Wendy na pwede mag-artista for looks and Nel kase komedyante. Tentative big 4 right now n ABS is Wendy, Nel, Bodie and Bruce or Gee-Ann (and Gee-Ann is still just a slight possibility at that – they are just keeping her “tentatively” kase she’s pretty and madaming fans. Pwede pa rin nila ilaglag dahil para lang si Franzen na nag-generate lang ng money dahil sa text votes. Pero when it comes to income from text versus ratings, nilaglag si Franzen para may slot si Uma and Cass. To think na dapat si Franzen ang big winner sa PBB1 kung i-base nila sa votes, again according to my sources). Gee-Ann, Mickey, Bea and rest have little chance of being part of the big 4 daw talaga no matter how much we vote. Not saying wala talagang chance. But the only way they would increase the odds of being part of the big 4 or atleast not getting evicted early in the game is to be controversial and generate high ratings. Nilaglag si Dionne kase wala na daw angle na pwedeng i-exploit sa istorya niya inside the house after the ZEKE story. Bea, after the Maricris issue, wala narin. Walang loveteam, walang conflict. paulit-ulit, I know. Pero that’s it talaga. Nothing can stand in the way of ratings. Pwede sabihin na a housemate would be safe as long as hindi ma-nominate, titirahin nila yan sa violation. It’s the game TV networks play. Sa 4 na nominated this week, si Yen daw ang pinaka-walang angle for any story kaya siya ang malamang na ilalaglag.

In a nutshell. Possible story angles = controversy = RATINGS. Nothing else matters. UUlitin ko, hindi daw ito labanan ng pera – Ratings lang. Ito ang mundo ng TV network wars. The ONLY way we could (could pa lang yan – a small fighting chance) against the Wendys on the tube, is to BOYCOTT. Stop watching the show when Wendy comes back. Only when and only then, pag ratings become worse will ABS ever think twice.

I know it’s all hearsay from friends, but I don’t see what they would gain from lying to me. In my defense I’ve never written any bad posts in this forum, impolite or otherwise and never ako nagkalat ng chismis or nanira ng respective bets ng ibang tao to sway other people’s opinions. As much as possible I’ve tried to be objective when it came to debates about issues and the like. I hope most of you would bear this in mind before you judge me.

I don’t know. Call it fatalistic, pero I’m giving PBB one last chance this week. Pag NATANGGAL SI YEN (as my friends said) this week, I would open my mind to the possibility na what my friends told me could happen and I am never spending a single centavo to vote. As of now, boycott ako sa PT, uplate, update, etc. anything that would contribute to ABS’ PBB ratings. As much as I love Gee and Mikcey, makikibalita na lang ako dito sa forums. Wala paring iwanan, kase nakakaawa sila they are being exploited. Pero kailangan talaga sumadsad ang ratings na PBB pag pasok ni Wendy. Only then I think will changes occur. Dun lang walang laban si Wendy, sa Ratings. Dun lang siya hindi ipagpapalit ng ABS. I apologize if I sound like a broken record, I guess I just can’t say it enough. I am just so disappointed. You could say I shoudn’t be affected, a TV show is not a hindrance to my life. I guess I am still clinging to some PRINCIPLES and the Idea that we could make a difference. That “they have rights who dare defend them”. If not by clamoring in the streets and by being loud, then by silent protest, by not watching the show, by BEATING them in their own game. Let the PBB2 RATINGS go down this week!
