Spotlight on Lacey Schwimmer

Lacey-Mae Schwimmer (born June 28, 1988) is an American competitive ballroom dancer, and the winner of multiple youth championship awards. As of June 13, 2007, she is a top-16 finalist in season 3 of So You Think You Can Dance. Schwimmer was born into a family of championship dancers. Her parents are Laurie Kauffman and noted West Coast Swing dancer Buddy Schwimmer. She is also the younger sister of Benji Schwimmer, winner of Season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance. She has been dancing competitively since a young age. For example, she and partner Brian Cordoba danced at age 7 in the 1995 U.S. Open Dance Championship. In January 2003, Lacey Schwimmer was paired with partner Jared Murillo, and they began competing at the Junior level. They were upgraded to Youth level in August 2003, and have competed in dozens of competitions, with their highest award being the U.S. National Youth Latin Championship, in 2006. After making the Top 20, Lacey was partnered up with contemporary/hip-hop dancer Kameron Bink. For that round they danced a Mia Michaels contemporary routine. In the Top 18, the couple danced a Tyce DiOrio Broadway routine. Lacey and her partner Kameron have a huge fanbase, making up their coupling name "Kamcey".
