July 16, 2007 by cd

Family Guy is an American animated television series about a nuclear family in the fictional town of Quahog, Rhode Island. On one of its episode, the show used cutaway gags about Filipinos. Watch the video after the jump.

Funny or offensive? You decide.

    “lumpia” for dinner?

i don’t really understand the rest…i only understood the first, it’s filipin nurses are stealing from him…i don’t really think it’s offensive nor it’s funny…and i think they’re just reacting to what they see about filipinos…if they always do this, reacting to current events and the lifestyles of different people, then let them be…this show is sarcastic, and can’t even even the simpsons, which has it’s own movie…

Hahahaha. THat was funny. I didn’t find it offensive at all. The show is about that. DI lang naman Filipinos ang nababanggit, maraming ibang lahi din. Close-minded naman ang mga ma-o-offend.
Jasper (cousin nung puting aso, forgot his name) said, “everybody this is RIcardo from the phils and my kitchen floor”. Kitchen floor? I dont quite get it. Ah siguro dahil maraming DH na pinoy. Tapos Jasper was asked how was his flight, he replied, “ahh..it was torture… sitting across from a gaggle of sailors flying home from leave..” He maybe referring to Seamen. Jasper again: “I cant believe the wedding’s off, all i ever wanted was to get married and make a home with a skinny hairless filipino boy, isnt that the american dream?” Tapos nagtagalog si Ricardo to Dewey (if that’s the name of the talking football-headed baby)

I am a big fun of The Family Guy and I don’t find this offensive at all. In fact, I think Seth mac Farlane, creator of Family Guy might evfen be very fond of Filipinos. These are only two of several episodes where we Filipinos are mentionned in the TV series.

The humour of this TV series is very irreverent, but not towards us Filipinos. You should see harsh the humour is towards the Jewish people and the Mexicans.

    I love Family Guy!

I am a big “FAN” pala. Hehe. Anyway, anybody who finds these videos offensive is extremely sensitive and requires therapy.
