The billboard of the most anticipated show in GMA – Marimar – has been unveiled. And i like it! And i also believe that Marian Rivera will be GMA’s next big star after Angel Locsin. She has the “it” factor. There’s something in her eyes and aura that make her perfect for the role.

The Simpsons Movie Beats ‘Chuck and Larry’ at the Boxoffice

The Simpsons Movie opened with $71.9 million in ticket sales in U.S. and Canadian theaters this weekend, leading at the box office and surpassed the $70 million News Corp.’s 20th Century Fox film studio spent to make this animated feature.
After 18 years on tv, America’s favorite dysfunctional family is making its first appearance on the big screen with an estimated $29.1 million gross on its first day of release on Friday. It has became the fifth-biggest start so far this year and will likely exceed expectations.
‘I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry’ is in the No. 2 spot with $19.06 million in sales, ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ is third at $17.07 million and Hairspray is fourth with $15.55 million in ticket purchases.

When it comes to local movie-awards-giving-body, bukod tanging Urian lamang ang inaabangan ko dahil ang pumipili ng mga mananalo ay pawang mga “movie critics”, hindi industry colleagues at hindi press people. Ito ang award-giving body kung saan patas na naglalaban ang indie films at mainstream movies di tulad sa iba na magkahiwalay ang kategorya na Best Indie Film at Best Picture. Sa Urian din patas ang labanan ng mga aktor at aktress regardless of their age. Meaning, walang Best Child Actor at Best Child Actress di tulad sa iba dahil kahit bata ay maaaring manalo ng Best Actor/Actress o Supporting Actor/Actress gaya ng sa Oscar Awards.

Gemma Gatdula Wins the Search for the Next White Castle Girl

She may have lost the title Philippine’s Next Top Model and got eliminated early in the show but Gemma Gatdula persisted and recently she won another reality-based model competition – the Search for the Next White Castle Girl. Gemma survived being kicked by a white horse, getting burned by fire and getting bitten by snake and other weird tasks in the contest. The 25-year old model from Pampanga will appear on billboards, magazines and calendar for White Castle in 2008 and who knows, she might follow the footsteps of the reigning White Castle girl Roxanne Guinoo.
24 year old Jacq Yu wins first runner-up and 18-year-old Vanessa Durano of Cebu wins 2nd runner up.

Talk about good karma, the pbb housemate everybody loves to hate Wendy Valdez got the biggest break among them all – a starring role in an ABS CBN teleserye entitled “Margarita“. Sana comedy series na lang entitled “Everybody Hates Wendy” hehehe.
The new teleserye starts tonight on Primetime Bida and also starring Wendy’s real life bf and co-housemate Bruce Quebral. Diether Ocampo will complete the love triangle in the life of the showgirl named “Margarita.”
Kokey – Upcoming Fantaserye on ABS CBN

Kokey is an upcoming ABS-CBN fantasy TV series which targets the young audience. It was first announced in ASAP that Kokey will be airing on July 30, 2007 Monday to Thursday from 10:15 to 10:50 p.m. on Primetime Bida (replacing Rounin), but the series was postponed to an unknown date to make way for Margarita starring the controversial Wendy Valdez (3rd big placer of Pinoy Big Brother Season 2).
Kokey’s casts include fresh “kapuso-turned-kapamilya” stars Ruffa Gutierrez, Redford White and Megan Young (of Starstruck). Also starring in this new series are Eugene Domingo and Zanjoe Marudo.
