65th Golden Globe Awards Nominees

"Atonement," the tony British drama of love and war, led the pack with seven nominations in the 65th Golden Globe Awards film category as the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. announced its nominations for the 2008 annual Golden Globes on Thursday morning. Angelina Jolie scored a nomination for Best Actress in "The Mighty Heart" although her other movie, Beowulf, was ignored in the Best Animated Feature category. There are only 3 nominees for the said category and these are: Bee Movie, Ratatouille and the Simpsons Movie. Boxoffice delights Hairspray and Enchanted also scored a nomination or two. In the awards for television, Grey's Anatomy and House were nominated in the Best Drama series but Ugly Betty was ignored in the Best Comedy category. America Ferrera received the lone nomination for the beloved tv series - Best Actress in a Comedy Series. Brothers and Sisters, on the other hand, received two acting nominations. Best Actress drama for Sally Field (who won the Emmy's earlier this year) and Best Supporting Actress for Rachel Griffiths. NBC's hit series "Heroes" was also snubbed this year.
