‘ABS-CBN’s News Report, Erroneous’ – GMA 7

"Hindi po istilo yan ng 'mandaraya'!" this is Mike Enriquez' one-liner on 24 Oras Wednesday night, as he reported the news about the case being filed by ABS-CBN to AGB Nielsen Media Research Philippines regarding the nationwide tv ratings tampering issue as being blamed to GMA 7. ABS-CBN earlier reported on their radio programs in DZMM* and on TV Patrol that AGB Nielsen already admitted that GMA 7 bribed the metered households in Bacolod to watch only kapuso programs. On 24 Oras, GMA reporter Sarah Aguinaldo emphasized the affidavit being issued by Maya Reforma, the general manager of AGB Nielsen: "There is no evidence that shows any significant impact on the NUTAM (nationwide ratings) data as a result of the activities purportedly launched by GMA network." And here is GMA's reaction to the news report:

GMA Network categorically denies the report that is behind the alleged AGB Nielsen ratings manipulation. In its radio report, ABS-CBN/DZMM erroneously broadcast that AGB Nielsen named GMA 7 as the network that allegedly funded an operation to bribe metered homes in Bacolod City to watch GMA shows and influence the ratings.

* “We stand by our report in DZMM. Maya Reforma, in her interview with DZMM’s Junry Hidalgo this morning, identified GMA-7 as behind certain activities that resulted in exposing the affected panel homes,” said ABS-CBN spokesman Bong Osorio.
