Valerie Concepcion as Betty La Fea?

The franchise to localize the hit Colombian telenovela, Betty La Fea, which was first shown in the Philippines by GMA-7 was bought by ABS-CBN. The kapamilya network is now in the process of casting and Valerie Concepcion is leading the list of possible actresses to play the pinoy “Ugly Betty”.
Although no one’s being selected yet, Valerie Concepcion said she’s honored and flattered for being considered for the role.
Other actresses being considered for the role are “Lobo” star Angel Locsin and “Maging Sino Ka Man” mainstays Bea Alonzo and Anne Curtis. Even Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez was also considered for the series which almost compeled the kapuso diva to transfer to ABS-CBN.
Regine mentioned on The Buzz last Sunday that she requested GMA-7 to buy the franchise of “Betty La Fea” last year only to find out that the rights was already bought by ABS-CBN. When she guested on Sharon weeks ago, an ABS-CBN official told her they would give her the role of “Betty La Fea” if she is willing to transfer “over the bakod”. But negotiations didn’t push through as ABS-CBN later denied the alleged P25 million “offer”.
Now that Betty La Fea is going local, who do you want to play the coveted role?

well bea and angelica is my bet, then bea is partnered to john loyd, i think is time to bring back the child star angelica in a lead role, she deserves, valerie do not fit in the role, go ABS,

gusto ko sana si angel locsin kaya lang, yung lobo nya is really, really great that i think she deserves a follow-up teleserye na equally great or at par sa lobo. piolo & angel, you make my day complete! addicted ako sa lobo. ang galing-galing kasi ng istorya at yung cast, stellar performances talaga ang pinapakita. congrats piolo & angel.
