Dyesebel Debuts at No. 1 with 44.9%

The pilot episode of Dyesebel was able to surpass the pilot episode of Marimar with an impressive 44.9 percent. The pilot episode of Marimar, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera’s first tv series, registered 36.6% last August 13, 2007.
However, Dyesebel was not able to beat Darna’s pilot record of 47.1 percent registered last April 11, 2005. Darna still holds the record of the highest rating for a pilot episode, followed by ABS-CBN’s Pangako Sa ‘Yo with 46.5 percent.
ABS-CBN’s “Maligno” starring Claudine Barretto, Rafael Rosell and Diether Ocampo debuted at no. 10 last night with 17.5 percent. The suspense-series was put on a later timeslot because of some violent scenes.

Kapitan Boom Debuts at No. 7

Jon Avila’s television debut via Kapitan Boom registered 16.8 percent which is good for the 7th slot in the primetime race. Kapitan Boom replaced “I Am KC”, the weekly drama anthology of mega-daughter KC Concepcion. It’s rival show, Pinoy Idol went back to no. 3 after being beaten by I Am KC last week.
There were 2 musical specials last Sunday night on the rival stations. GMA aired Regine Velasquez’s birthday special entitled “The Best of Me” and it grabbed the 9th spot with 9.5 percent in the primetime race. ABS-CBN aired the Bantay Bata Anniversary special with various guests including Charice Pempengco. It registered 5.5 percent which is good for 10th place in the primetime race.
