Demi Sorono, Last Pinoy Standing on ‘So You Think You Can Dance Australia’

The 28-year-old Filipina B-girl (break dancer) Demi Sorono wowed Australian televiewers when she showed her versatility on the Down Under’s edition of So You Think You Can Dance as she made it to the final four, and the last pinoy standing at that.
Two other pinoys made it to the Top 20, Rhiannon Villareal and Joel de Carteret, but were voted off as the show progresses. Hip hop dancer Joel “J.D.” de Carteret was eliminated in the final 12 episode while jazz dancer Rhiannon was eliminated in the final 8.
Demi, on the other hand, was a breath of fresh air as she surprises the judges and audiences week after week with her performance. The petite morena didn’t have any training or ‘technique’ in any of the dance styles except for street styles such as B-boying, popping, locking, house and new jack but was impressive when she danced tha samba, contemporary, boogaloo, jazz, rumba and pop.
Demi’s partner in the first half of the season was broadway and funk dancer Jack Chambers. The two never landed in the bottom 3 until now. There are some buzz that Jack Chambers is leading the popularity vote to win the title but Demi has her Filipino-Australians rooting for her.
Aside from Demi and Jack, Rhys Bobridge and Kate Wormald also made it to the finals. The four will compete for the title of Australia’s Favorite Dancer on April 27, 2008.

i\’ve been watching sytycd australia..and demi has been really great and wonderful..but i bet she\’s the 4th now in the ranking..jack\’s leading
