Pinoy Idol – Duets to Top 45

This week the contestants of Pinoy Idol were grouped in pairs and performed a duet on stage inside cinema 6 of SM North Edsa. From the original 175 on the first day of Manila week, 90 remained battling it to the Top 45.

Some of the contestants were impressive and some kinda overdid their performance. I was disappointed that blind girl, Katchry Golbin, was eliminated. She can put Pinoy Idol on the world headlines if ever she made it to Top 24, sayang (sentimental daw ba). In fairness, magaling naman siya talaga.
Judges Ogie Alcasid and Jolina Magdangal were pissed off with one of the contestants named Warren Antig. The said contestant made a scene because he was thinking of backing out from the competition. After much delays, he decided to give it a go only to find out that the judges didn’t like his attitude and unprofessionalism. Ogie explains: “I couldn’t let it pass. He was wasting everyone’s time. I wanted him to realize that a production isn’t just one person … that there are so many people involved.†Fortunately for him though, his drama worked as he got in.
Ogie also reprimanded a 16-year-old girl who, he felt, did not support her female partner in the duets round. Raymond calls them the week’s “Drama Queens.â€
26 males and 19 females made it to the Top 45. Next week, they will be trimmed down to 12 girls and 12 guys as the Top 24 will be announced. Finally!

I hate THAT episode….. This is a solo performance talent contest…. DUETS should be out of the way…. The contestants should not be judged by their duet performances…. We need someone WHO CAN STAND ALONE…… I hate this!!!!!

kesyo sumikat o hindi ang eventual winner, it\’s the show, the format, the drama, stupid kapams. wala namang American Idol na naka achieve ng superstardom pero number 1 kaya ang show sa U.S.

He hehe…. Actually I’ve been a follower of American Idol…. None that I heard of ang mag-duet challenge… well as far as i know… please correct me if im wrong….
Pero, I always watch pinoy idol…. dont get me wrong… well, in my personal opinion, parang duet challenge is not appropriate…
Pero tatahimik ako if meron talagang ganitong format sa mga overseas formats….

sa elimination rounds sa AI, di lang duets eh.. sometimes trio, 4 members.. siguro they want to test kung pano sila as member of a group..
