The crystal diva, Sheryn Regis, was given the recognition of being Asia's Best Female Performing Artist in the recently concluded 2008 Asian Star Entertainment Awards.

The ASIAN STAR ENTERTAINMENT AWARD (ASEA) is given to outstanding peforming artists or entertainment group, technical and production achievers in the fields of arts and entertainment, movies, television & radio in any of the countries within the Asia Pacific Region.

Award Citations include: TOP MALE AND FEMALE ENTERTAINER, BEST MOVIE AND TELEVISION ACTOR AND ACTRESS, BEST SUPPORTING MOVIE AND TELEVISION SUPPORTING ACTOR AND ACTRESS, BEST TELEVISION STATION, BEST TV TALK SHOW, BEST TV GAME SHOW AWARD, BEST SCRIPTWRITER, BEST CINEMATOGRAPHER, BEST NEWSCASTER, BEST NEWS PROGRAM and similar citation titles and recognitions specifically connoting the awardees’ respective entertainment/theater accomplishments.

Earlier, Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 winner and runner-up, Laarni Lozada and Bugoy Bugayon, won the Most Promising Female and Male Performers of 2008 in the same award-giving body.
