ABS-CBN Suspends Cristy Fermin

Controversial TV host, radio anchor and showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin was suspended by ABS-CBN until December 31, 2008 for her slanderous statements against Nadia Montenegro.
Mario Dumaual reported Wednesday night on TV Patrol World that Cristy Fermin’s contract in the showbiz talk show “The Buzz” and her daily radio program “Showbiz Mismo” on DZMM is suspended until the end of this year.
Here is the official statement released by ABS-CBN regarding this matter:
“Ang kontrata ni Ms. Cristy Fermin bilang host ng The Buzz sa ABS-CBN Channel 2 at anchorperson ng Showbiz Mismo sa DZMM ay sinuspende hanggang December 31, 2008.
“Ang suspensyon ng talent contracts ni Ms. Fermin sa ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation ay may kaugnayan sa mga naging pahayag niya sa episode ng The Buzz noong October 5, 2008. Ang aksyong ito ni Ms. Fermin ay lumabag sa ilang probisyon ng kanyang kontrata.
“Sa pananaw ng kompanya, nadamay ang mga batang walang kinalaman sa kontrobersya sa kanyang pahayag.
“Nalabag din ng aksyon ni Ms. Fermin ang mataas na batayan ng propesyonalismo at integridad sa pamamahayag. Ito ay nagdulot ng kapinsalaan hindi lamang sa kanyang pangalan at kredibilidad, kundi sa programang The Buzz at sa ABS-CBN.”
It’s not yet decided if Cristy Fermin can return to her jobs at ABS-CBN after the suspension period.
On the other hand, Nadia Montenegro filed an official complaint at the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) against Cristy Fermin for the slanderous statements pronounced by the latter on the October 5 episode of The Buzz.
Nadia has also plans of filing a libel and slander case against Cristy Fermin next week.

well atleast abs knows how to act pag foul na ang ginagawa ng hosts nila. Unlike other network… purely imbento to kasinungalingan lang ang sinasabi host nila at nag sasabog na wala paring pakialam. Kung credibility lang ang topic, mas mayroon si Cristy non kesa kay lolit solis.

I am so happy about ABS’ management decision to suspend FERMIN. This is an overwhelming endeavour for them. Alisin ang mga “lumot” sa industriya like her. She deserves not only supension but termination,. Isa siya sa mga rason kung bakit hindi kami nanonood ng shows ng Channel 2. Kudos sa mga Lopezes!!! At least naging sensible kayo ngayon!!!!! Bravo bravo!!!!

i guess tama lang ang ginawang move na ito ng abs,and mind you di sila mahilig mag protect sa mga maling ginagawa ng tauhan nila unlike sa iba!!!
