Not reliabe ang THE-QS. My prof. in UP verified na UP didn’t even tried to participate in the said ‘popularity’ contest. And we event made it to the top. Dapat wala kami sa top 500.

wat’s with ateneo???
they beat UP and LA Salle??
oh i can’t believe it
maybe biased ang survey ng THES Q
ateneo doesn’t meet the standard that UP and La Salle has…

i find the network rivalry references rather pathetic and irrelevant to the topic at hand.
anyway, i’m happy that admu ranked best among the 4 philippine universities. It would have been better if up participated, though. i checked the qs top universities site and found that no conclusive statistical data were submitted by up. it would have been a much fairer comparison, and i believe that up would have ranked much higher if they had participated. up, after all, is the state university.
as for la salle being better than ateneo…
both schools submitted their data, and ateneo bested la salle. some claim that the survey is not reliable. nevertheless, the study appears to have used acceptable research practices (if not, established universities like those within the ivy league would have long objected with the results, right? they wouldn’t want their names associated with a crappy study/ranking). With regards to the rankings being a popularity contest: isn’t the popularity, vis-a-vis the image and prestige of the school a big part of the school’s identity? Because there will be no “image” if the identity of the school (i.e. the actual qualities of school) does not correspond to the said image. these being said, i would have to say that ateneo deserves the credit of being better than la salle. as for next year, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Kaya nataasan ng ateneo ang UP dahil maraming international students dito, at HALOS mag kalevel sila ng education quality ng UP at under siya ng Loyola schools. tignan niyo yung criteria.
