The New Miss Earth Will Come from Europe?

The very first Miss Earth came from Denmark with the debut of the fastest-growing international beauty pageant in 2001. No other beauty from Europe has won since that year as the latinas, just like in Miss Universe, dominated the pageant with 4 winners, 8 runner-ups and 12 semi-finalists in the last 8 years.

But unlike in Miss Universe where the judges seemed to favor Latin-American beauties more than contestants from other continents, Miss Earth seemed to be the pageant who has an “eye” for European beauties. Countries like Denmark, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Spain, Yugoslavia, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Latvia, Greece, Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro, Czech Republic, Norway and even Georgia have placed prominently in the cut.

This year, these European beauties came stronger than ever. This could be the year for the second European country to win Miss Earth. Technically, Bosnia and Herzegovina was the 2nd one but she was dethroned in 2002 and Kenya overtook the title.

Shoo-in for the crown is of course, the goddess from Greece, Ria Antoniou:

Another front-runner is Miss Romania, Ruxandra Popa:

And how can we forget Miss Kosovo, Yllka Berisha:

And of course, the stunning Adriana Reverón – Miss Spain:

And these European ladies can pull a surprise:

Belgium and Netherlands
France, Luxembourg and Guadeloupe
Latvia and Finland
Scotland and Wales
Slovenia
Sweden

Bubbling Up are Czech Republic (pre-pageant fave, see thumbnail), Switzerland (pre-pageant fave), England, Georgia, Hungary, Poland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Serbia, Slovak Republic and Russia. Ukraine should have been one of the front-runners but she did not arrive. Did i miss someone?
