Taylor Lautner Back as Jacob Black in Twilight Sequel

Looks like our very own Michael Copon did not get the role of Jacob Black as Taylor Lautner decided to return for the Twilight sequel “New Moon.”
Here’s the news from Associated Press:
Taylor Lautner will be back to morph into the monstrous Jacob Black in the “Twilight” sequel “New Moon.”
There had been talk that a bigger, buffer, more menacing actor might play the role when the second of Stephenie Meyer’s hugely successful vampire novels hits movie screens come Nov. 20. Lautner, by comparison, appears lean and sweet-faced in part one. But distributor Summit Entertainment and director Chris Weitz confirmed Wednesday that Lautner would be returning.
Stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will also be returning as the saga’s doomed young lovers, high schooler Bella Swan and brooding vampire Edward Cullen.
Catherine Hardwicke’s “Twilight” opened at No. 1 with a whopping $69.6 million at the box office in November, the biggest opening ever for a female director. It has since grossed about $177 million domestically.

i think it’s much better that jacob lautner will return as jacob black..
for it will not anger many twilight fanatics… but i think the main reason why some (mostly filipinos) may be dismayed by this news is because michael copon is half filipino… anyway, whoever play who in the twilight saga is fine as long as robert and kristen will play edward and bella…

The character Jacob in the Movie Twilight didnt developed…parang he was wala lang in the movie..thaTS one reason y twilight was a dissapointment…tsk…

i too prefer the book over the movie but in defense of jacob black (taylor) in the first movie, jacob didn’t really have a big role. kaya parang extra lang ang dating nya kase yun na nga, extra lang naman halos talaga ang role nya sa 1st book. pero sa 2nd book, dito na madedevelop ang character nya.
kaya kung tutuusin, masyado pa maaga yung 1st movie para malaman kung magaling ba si taylor as jacob black. sa 2nd movie naman kase magkakaroon ng major na role si jacob.

I also prefer the book than the movie because it is so unfair!!! Jacob has many parts in the book while in the movie only 5 parts!!!(i think so).. oh, well im very happy for taylor lautner! im a huge fan of him! and i wish new moon would be a better movie than twilight…
