Jennifer Hudson Wins Big at the 40th Image Awards

American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson grabbed 3 trophies including Best New Artist during the 40th annual NAACP Image Awards. Check out the complete list of winners in music, tv and movies after the jump.

The NAACP Image Awards is America’s premier event
celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of
people of color in the arts (motion picture, television, recording,
and literature), as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors.

Hudson, Beyonce, Will.i.am and Seal performed on stage at the Shrine Auditorium ceremony, which was hosted by actress Halle Berry and actor-screenwriter Tyler Perry. The show coincides with the 100th anniversary of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and kicks off a yearlong centennial celebration.
