GMA and Regal's Valentine movie When I Met U ended its first week run with a haul of P75.58 million according to Box Office Mojo.

The Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion starrer opened amazingly in SM City North EDSA, the country’s biggest theater earning an estimated P1.3 million on the mall’s cinema, marked the second biggest opening day income of all time next to Ang Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat.

In the weekend-gross report, however, When I Met U has reportedly earned P32.46 million. It is not clear however if the figure represents Friday to Sunday gross or if opening day on Wednesday and Thursday gross were included.

GMA Films reported earlier that the movie earned P25 million last Saturday, Valentines Day, alone. So if this accurate, then it is possible that the first week gross of the movie is in the P70M to P80M boundary. Thus, the total gross-to-date according to Box Office Mojo is $1,598,750 or P75.58 M.

In comparison with Richard and KC’s first movie “For the First Time”, When I Met U is significantly behind because the Star Cinema movie registered P78.9 million on its first 5 days last year.
