American Idol Results: Jasmine Murray and Jorge Nunez Eliminated

33 million votes came in and the two contestants who received the lowest are Jasmine Murray and Jorge Nunez.

Ryan Seacrest explains the new rule in American Idol which is called “Judges Save.” It’s a power given to the judges to save an eliminated contestant once and only once up until the Top 5. Once they use it, the save can not be used again the entire season. The week they use the save, no one will be eliminated but the next week, two will go.

The Top 13 performed a medley of Jackson 5 hits afterwards. The Top 13 new Ford Fusion video/commercial was also shown. It’s entitled “We Will Rock You.” Guest performers were Kelly Clarkson and Kanye West.

Ryan started the deliberation for the first group. Jasmine Murray and Megan Corkrey were sent the center of the stage. Michael Sarver, Allison Iraheta, Matt Giraud and Kris Allen were safe. Ryan announced that the first one to leave is Jasmine Murray. He asked the judges if they will use the “Judges Save” for Jasmine but they did not.

Jasmine performed “I’ll Be There” one last time.

Ryan started the deliberation for the second group. Alexis Grace, Danny Gokey, Scott McIntyre, Lil Rounds and Adam Lambert were all safe leaving Jorge Nunez and Anoop Desai as the bottom two. Ryan announced that Anoop Desai is safe while Jorge is leaving the competition. Same drill with the “Judges Save” but the judges refused to save Jorge.

Jorge performed “Never Can Say Goodbye” one last time.
