Angelina Jolie is Forbes’ Top Earning Actress of 2009

Forbes released its annual list of “Hollywood’s Top-Earning Actresses” and this year, Angelina Jolie zoomed to no. 1 from no. 10 last year with an estimated earnings of $27 million in the last 12 months.
Jennifer Aniston, on the other hand, came in second with $25 million earnings in the last 12 months. And what do the no. 1 and no. 2 top earning actresses in Hollywood have in common? Brad Pitt of course.
Jolie starred in the movies Wanted, Changeling and a voice over in the animated film Kung Fu Panda. Aniston, on the other hand, starred in He’s Just Not That Into You and Marley & Me.

Brad Pitt is at no. 9 with an earning of $28 million. He earned $1 million higher than his partner Jolie.

AGB Mega Manila TV Ratings (June 30-July 2): ABS-CBN soaps grab lead in the primetime race

The primetime supremacy in Mega Manila area is slipping away from GMA-7.
The last three days, June 30 to July 2, saw two ABS-CBN shows occupying the top slot in the primetime race: Tayong Dalawa (June 30 and July 2) and May Bukas Pa (July 1). This is based on the latest overnight ratings conducted by AGB Nielsen Philippines among Mega Manila households
Although the Top 10 is equally divided between ABS-CBN and GMA-7 with five shows apiece, the Kapamilya network has two or three shows in the Top 5: Tayong Dalawa, May Bukas Pa, and Only You.
GMA-7’s Zorro, which usually tops the primetime race, slipped to second place Tuesday (June 30) and Thursday (July), and even dropped to No. 6 Wednesday (July 1).
Totoy Bato and 24 Oras still give a very good fight for the Kapuso network.
Other slots are being contested by GMA-7’s Adik Sa ‘Yo and All My Life, and ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol World and The Wedding.

MANILA, Philippines – Media conglomerate ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. reported a net income of P191 million in the first quarter this year, down 21 percent from the P242-million profit recorded the previous year
GMA Offering superior programs and the widest reach across the country, GMA Network also dominates the ratings race.
Data from AGB Nielsen Philippines consistently indicate that GMA Network reigns supreme in Mega Manila—the more relevant area to advertisers. The Kapuso network is also ahead in Luzon, and is continuously growing in the national survey. Based on data from AGB-Nielsen Philippines in May, GMA Network posted a total day (6 a.m. to 12 midnight) household audience share of 40.2 percent, 9.2 percentage points higher than ABS-CBN’s 31 percent. Twenty-two out of the overall top 30 programs were from GMA Network, with the first four programs in the list all Kapuso primetime hits.
As such, despite reductions in industry advertising expenditures, GMA Network remains financially strong and has consistently been ahead of its competitor in minute loading. In the first five months of 2009 , GMA Network registered a net income of P1.087 billion, a growth of 22 percent from the P890-million bottom line last year. Gross revenues for the five-month
period grew by 7 percent to P4.952
billion. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) was at P1.854 billion, 12 percent higher compared to 2008 figures.
GMA’s investments in the past years (regional expansion, state-of-the-art GMA Network Studios) solidifiy GMA’s position as the premier network in the Philippines, gearing it for greater growth in the future.

If there is something common between Angel Locsin and Angelina Jolie aside from their almost similar first names, that would be their passion to help the less fortunate. The only difference is that Angelina enjoys the publicity while Angel keeps it to herself.
Many have been speculating that Angel’s career is currently out of the limelight and some are even saying that her talent fee is bargain, the reason why she haven’t invested anything yet. If they only knew that Angel donates almost half of her talent fee to charities, they would know why. (more…)
