‘The Simpsons’ Awarded Guinness World Record for Longest Running Sitcom

The animated comedy series “The Simpsons” is now the longest running sitcom in the world, displacing The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet which had 435 episodes.
The Simpsons also bags the Guinness Record for the most Emmy’s for a single show, and the show was selected by Guinness readers as one of the top 100 records of the decade.
It is also interesting to note that the first Filipino to win an Emmy Award was animator Jess Espanola for his work on “Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind” episode of the award-winning animated series.
