Another noteworthy number on SOP Sunday afternoon was Carla Abellana and the Bro Band’s acoustic rendition of “Single Ladies.” Check it out.
SOP’s Bro Band consists of Aljur Abrenica, Gian Magdangal, Matteo Guidicelli, Gerald Santos, Paulo Avelino, Chris Cayzer and Dennis Trillo.

Angel LOCSIN Gets an Award from the UN Youth Association of the Philippines
Angel is one of this year’s recipients of the prestigious UN Youth Association of the Philippines Outstanding Youth Leadership awards. The annual awards are given to recognize the positive achievements of young Filipinos who have dedicated their talents and leadership abilities to ‘make a difference’ in the fields of culture and the arts, entertainment, community service, environment, etc.
Particularly, the award is given by UNAP to Angel in recognition and appreciation of her work in advocating women’s rights and welfare. Angel will receive the award during a ceremony on August 7, which will coincide with UNAP’s celebration of the International Youth Day.

In the TNS Mega Manila TV Ratings, Darna received an even higher figure. A (supposed to be) record-breaking 47.6 percent, a pilot rating higher than Angel Locsin’s Darna which registered a pilot rating of 47.1% in 2005.

The 44.1% pilot rating of Darna is Marian Rivera’s 2nd highest series opener, after Dyesebel’s 44.9% last April 28, 2008.
