September 16, 2009 by cd

We all know that the TNS Nationwide TV Ratings is ABS-CBN’s turf but there is one GMA primetime program that they can’t beat: Survivor Philippines Palau.
Survivor Philippines Palau is pitted against Florinda last Friday night and it got 19.9% while the horror series garnered 17.8%. With the entry of Stairway to Heaven last Monday night, Survivor Philippines Palau is now pitted against SNN and it still emerged victorious with 18.5%. The showbiz talk show only garnered 12.2% nationwide.
GMA’s new program, Stairway to Heaven, had its pilot episode last Monday night. According to TNS survey, the koreanovela remake received 25.8% and it was overpowered by its rival show, Tayong Dalawa, which got 39.9%. Stairway is second to Darna among GMA programs nationwide.

sorry ha.. browsing through lang.. FYI Mr. Benavidez..
1. Yunga FEER na sinasabi mong Top ang GMA, paso na yan… Ang Panagalan niyan ngayon ay Asia 200 ( Formerly Far Eastern Economic Review 200) – changed its name in 2005 and Asian Wall Street Journal is now the one publishing the data.
For 2008.. eto results:
1. Ayala Land Inc.
2. Jollibee Foods Corp.
3. Ayala Corp.
4. Globe Telecom
5. San Miguel Corp.
6. Bank of the Philippine Islands
7. ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp.
8. Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co.
9. SM Prime Holdings
10. Banco de Oro Unibank.
ASAN ang GMA?
For 2009 eto:
1. Jollibee Foods Corp
2. Ayala Corp
3. Ayala Land
4. San Miguel Corp
5. Bank of the Philippine Islands
6. Globe Telecom
7. Banco de Oro Unibank
8. Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co
9. SM Prime Holdings
10. Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co.
OKAY..both ABS and GMA ay wala pero number 11 ang ABS-CBN nadislodge lang ng Metrobank….
High Tech ang GMA…
hmmm….
siguro nga di mo alam ang ibig sabihin ng high tech…
1. ABS-CBN is the first network to do the transition from analog to digital broadcasting….
2. The ABS-CBN group also produced the first nationally-produced true high definition program, which was the UAAP season 72. It, along with the NCAA games can be seen on SkyCable HD.
3. ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation celebrates its 55th anniversary, the media conglomerate marks a new milestone in Philippine broadcasting history by being the first to do tapeless TV production in and out of their studios.
The Kapamilya Network was the first among Philippine networks to recognize the digital trend in broadcasting by setting up a 100-percent non-linear post-production workflow. From 2003 to today, ABS-CBN has been increasing its number of editing and audio workstations and server storage to cope with the rising volume of content. With this development, the Philippines becomes THE FIRST COUNTRY IN SOUTHEAST ASIA TO GO TAPELESS IN TV PRODUCTION.
ABS-CBN has chosen EVS technology to migrate to a tapeless production workflow in their studios and Outside Broadcast vans.
IMAGINE iNUNAHAN PA NATIN ANG SINGAPORE…..
4. Production wise… Icompare mo na lang ang ASAP at SOP…
I am a financial analyst from the States and I both watch PinoyTV and TFC…
VERDICT: TFC Rules way way way ahead of PinoyTV… quality wise and program wise…

GMA Network’s new series “Darna,” which stars Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, has quickly conquered the hearts of Filipinos when it ranked number one in TV ratings nationwide.
Based on the National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) data from AGB Nielsen Philippines from sept. 7-11 , “Darna” beat all programs nationwide and took the number one spot with an average TV rating of 35.6%. “Darna’s” audience share reached 47.3%, which translates to more than 2.7 million projected number of TV households.
The series, originally created for comics by Mars Ravelo, premiered last Aug. 10 on GMA Telebabad. “Darna” pilot episode posted a TV rating of 44% in Mega Manila. Since then, “Darna” has been posting more than 40% TV ratings in most days, almost double the TV ratings being generated by its competing program.
The show posted its highest TV rating in Mega Manila of 47.5% last Aug. 18, when Narda became Darna for the first time.
“Darna’s” story gets even more intense in its upcoming episodes as the journey of the Pinay superhero continues. This week, Darna’s alter-ego, Narda, becomes the target of Impi (Mura), the evil twin of super villain Babaeng Impakta (Nadine Samonte). Babaeng Impakta managed to escape her wicked twin to be able to live normal as Roma. But Impi, who is dependent on human beings, moves from one person to another to kill people. Narda, who was almost killed by Impi, will later become friends with Roma. Roma will share her dark secret to Narda.
On the other hand, “Darna” discovers that aside from being the target of the super villains, she is also being pursued by ambitious and evil people. Newspaper editor Crisanto (Raymart Santiago) schemes to trap Darna using a fake hold-up scenario for his publication. Darna will also encounter a syndicate led by Shiro (Polo Ravales) when the group tries to rob a bank. In the encounter, Shiro will try to hit Darna with a bazooka!
The drama and action that envelope the upcoming episodes are something “Darna” viewers should not miss.
The No. 1 primetime series, “Darna,” airs weeknights after “24 Oras” on GMA Telebabad.
