Stephen Gately of Boyzone Dead at 33

Stephen Gately, member of the popular Irish band Boyzone in the 90’s, died on Saturday while on holiday in Majorca off the coast of Spain.
The news started from the boyband’s official website confirming Gately’s death: “Stephen tragically died whilst on holiday in Majorca yesterday.”
The four remaining Boyzone members, including lead singer Ronan Keating, were shocked following the news of the death. They will all fly out to the island today.
Stephen’s coming out as a gay man caused a sensation in the entertainment world ten years ago. He leaves a husband Andrew Cowles, who he married in a civil union in March, 2006.

I am a huge fan of BOYZONE
Although he is gay
The group’s talent is one of a kind they
do not dance or make gimmicks but their songs and almost all of their songs in their album are all good.
And they can sing LIVE, how sad his life ends so early.

this is sad sad news. Stephen is one of the most colorful member of Boyzone and was brave to come clear about his sexuality. i really hope that his death has nothing to do with drugs or his sexual preference. RIP Stephen. In God’s eyes, we are all equal.

Condolences to Stephen’s family and his husband. He was a pioneer for coming out during the hype of his fame and gay or straight, he was a wonderful human being. His death is a tragedy and it saddens me something so stupid as drinking took this soul.
