‘Sis’ Knocks Down ‘Ruffa and Ai’

The ABS-CBN morning talk show, Ruffa and Ai, is now included in the long list of casualties of GMA’s “Sis” which is now airing on its 9th year on television.
SiS was conceptualized by GMA executives in 2001 who wanted a different approach to typical morning talk shows seen on TV. At the time, the morning talk shows that were seen on TV were mostly live panel discussions with guest celebrities.
“Sis” premiered in July 2, 2001 as a replacement to Dina Bonnevie’s D! Day. The original hosts are true-to-life sisters Janice and Gelli de Belen. Carmina Villaroel was later added in the show.
The first program toppled by SiS was “Morning Girls” hosted by real-life bestfriends Pops Fernandez, Zsa Zsa Padilla and Kris Aquino. SiS was too strong against the so-called “Power Girl Trio” that’s why ABS-CBN reformatted the show making it “Morning Girls with Kris and Korina” with the powerhouse tandem of Kris Aquino and Korina Sanchez.
Year 2004 saw the show easily coasting through the ratings after “Morning Girls with Kris and Korina” folded up and was replaced with “Good Morning Kris” and “Morning Star” in succession.
Year 2005 saw the show competing against Boy Abunda’s morning talk show “Homeboy” and Roderick Paulate and Amy Perez’s variety show “Most Requested Show (MRS)” on ABS-CBN, and “Chowtime Na!” on IBC-13. However, “Sis” was still the preferred morning program of most Filipino viewers, as they clobbered the competition in the ratings. Both “MRS” and “Chowtime Na!” has since folded up and “Homeboy” was left to slug it out with “Sis” in the ratings.
Other shows that “Sis” faced stiff competition from ABS-CBN were: “Boy & Kris” featuring the Philippines’ King of Talk Boy Abunda (from Homeboy) and Philippines’ Queen of Talk Kris Aquino (2007-2009) and “Ruffa and Ai” (February 2009-present) hosted by Ruffa Gutierrez and Ai Ai delas Alas but the latter is about to become one of the casualties of the GMA talk show.
According to reports, Ruffa and Ai is ending its season this week together with the hosts’ contract. The kapamilya talk show will not return for another season as it will be replaced by the upcoming talent variety program “Showtime” to be hosted by Vhong Navarro and Anne Curtis.
We can’t help but speculate that the ratings of Ruffa and Ai didn’t live up to the expectations of the ABS-CBN management that’s why they decided to end its season (or series) run. And with another show pitted against the kapuso trio, the guessing game is on once again if how many months will “Showtime” last on air or will it be the very first program to topple “Sis”?
For now, it’s safe and fair to say that the real “queens” of morning television are Janice de Belen, Gelli de Belen and Carmina Villaroel. Do i need to explain further?

hahahaha nakakatawa naman nitong si trigell,napaka BITTER.. if u r educated person lam m yung kasagutan sa mga tanong m..yung mga show na nag aalisin is for the benifit ng manonood.this is for INNOVATION…Yan ang tatak ABS-CBN..
Yung SIS na sinasabi m pamg perya lng yan eh..watch m mabuti..did you learn something for them?nothing isn’t it? is their any good moral showing in their show?nothing again isn’t it? As in Pang carnival show lng ang SIS..Kaya d maalis alis ang SIS na yan dahil wala naman ibang talent or ibang magagaling na Host ang GMA_7 kayat pinatyatyagaan na lng nila..in their dreams they feel rated but why dont u do survey if anybody knows SIS? nothing! as in Nothing!..So INNOVATION for the better FUTURE kaya inaaalis na ang makalumang palabas ngayon sa television .We are now in third generation thats why ABS-CBN giving us World Class show with a world class talent! which GMA-7 cant do! So i think you should better to stop become Bitter tridgell..Dasal ka na lng kay BRO para mahismasan ka! Gudluck syo!Mapayaman ka sana ng mga GROCERY ng GMA-7! ABS-CBN still Ruled!

dapat lang nung 1st week ng ruffa and ai tsinugi na, yan tuloy dumagdag pa sa kahihiyan ng dos dausdos………..sino naman kaya ang susunod na pababagsakin ng sis if i were u dos dausdos wag na kasi for sure mapapahiya na naman kayo sa SIS always the best talga..

mas maganda ang Ruffa and Ai…
yung Darna ni Marian mas maganda yung Darna ni Angel si marian parang may nakaharang sa ngipin mas maganda si Bea kaysa kay Marian noh. tapos si marian parang sino hindi naman siya sikat noh.tapos nahulog pa ung tube nya ung sumasayaw sya ng sabay-sabay tayo ibagsak ang SIS. Ruffa and Ai Ibangon:P

did you learn something in what are you posting here? ahmm,,, it doesn’t mean that if a show has no good moral values instilled in the mind of the viewers then you can call it losser!! and according to your PA INNOVATION-INNOVATION it really shows that GMA re invent or INNOVATE it self to met the current standard of the viewers now!!! and they re invent to be unique na puro nlang ka daldalan ang ipinapikita sa shows… hahah, nakakaawa ka talaga as in what you said na walang ipapalit ang GMA sa 3 host it is because wala pang nakaka break sa record nila,,,, then you can call it longest running morning shows, because alll shows that is pitted with this shows is all toppled down!!! better put your GUARds down and dont be to defensive in your network because survey makes it all that they are now panicy as to which person they will pitted to the current GMA shows… kaya nga kahit isang DANCER at mistasang yatyat mag salita ginagaswang host para lang maka imbento if kaya bang taubin ang SIS…… how looser are you? SHAME ON ABS….. pinatataob ng bagohang istasyon!!!!

yang sis para rin yang eat bulaga sa dami ng bumangga anong napala kundi puro taob lahat kung bibilangin mo sa daliri ang napatob ng eat bulaga sobrang nakakaproud na kapuso parang sis sa dami ng napataob may kakalaban pa kaya sa kanila mahiya naman kayo dos no!ba talga pag gawang kapuso laging panalo.

Sana before you make those kind of comments against ABS CBN, you can check how many shows nila, depicts the proper moral values like “May Bukas Pa”, “Katorse”, and “Maalaala mo Kaya” which by the way has celebrated its 18th anniversary. How many of the shows of GMA can last that long. At pwede ba, bilangin nyo nga kung gaano kadami ang “sikat” at magagandang na artista nyo? Eh! puro galing lang sa Starstruck at kung saan, na wala namang mapatunayan. Ni walang mga award to boost off. Yung mga blockbuster films na sinasabi ng GMA like “Yaya and Angelina” sinasabing Blockbuster pero di naman pinapakita ang pila kasi wala namang nanood. Tignan nyo nga ang mga movies like “In my Life” sobrang click sa takilya. Entertainment in whichever form should depict the proper moral values and a sense of decency, where is that in you?

Buti na lang binasa ko pa yung ibang comments dito. Sayang kasi yung chance na ma lambast kita. What kind of a person says these kinds of things about a man liek Ted Failon who lost his wife to suicide. Me asawa ka ba? Kung wala, kahit magulang o kapatid. I’m sure meron naman. unless, hinukay ka lang sa lupa. Do you realize how painful it is to lose a love one much less lose it in a very tragic way? Tapos, kukwestyunin mo pa yung pagkatao nya at pagbibintangan mo pa? Kapusong walang puso. That’s what you are. Pathetic in the finest sense of the word. Pray na hindi mo maramdaman yung pinagdaanan ni Ted para hindi mo kainin yung mga sinabi mo. And all for what? Para lang ipamukha na magaling yung “Sis”? eh, ano bang values at education ang tinuturo non sayo? Eh, puro luto lang at mga interview ng mga artista nila na sila o kayong mga taga siete lang naman ang nakakakilala. Papuntahin mo nga yang mga artista ng GMA sa Amerika at kahit saang parte ng mundo, at itanong mo kung kilala sila? Eh, I’m sure mapapahiya lang sila pag sinabi ng mga OFW at foreigners na ” Artista ba yan?, or “Who the hell is that?. Think about it.
