Meet our two finalists.
They just started their showbiz career this year and yet they’ve already landed lead roles on tv, appeared on magazine covers, got endorsements left and right and they are now heading to the silver screen.
There are two most promising personalities this year breezing their way in the fast lane of stardom: Maricar Reyes from ABS-CBN and Carla Abellana from GMA.
Maricar Reyes became a household name when her sex video with Hayden Kho leaked on cyberspace. What has been the darkest moment of her life resulted to brighter mornings right after.
She’s been receiving major tv projects on ABS-CBN after appearing in some tv commercials and tv series like I Love Betty La Fea and Bud Brothers. She starred in the month long episode of Your Song Presents: Gaano Kita Kamahal and also appeared on the cover of Metro Magazine. Her Maalaala Mo Kaya episode became no. 1 in the nationwide survey. She was also a guest star in the top-rating teleserye May Bukas Pa. Currently, Maricar can be seen in Lovers in Paris where she plays the role of Karen, Piolo Pascual’s ex-wife.
In the kapuso corner, Carla Abellana is being dubbed as GMA’s next big star. Her first project on television is playing the lead role in the remake of the Mexican telenovela “Rosalinda.”
Carla appeared on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine and also became one of Bench endorsers. She can also be seen on SOP and will become one of the hosts of Starstruck V. She is also currently filming her first movie – “Ang Nanay Kong Aswang.”
It’s also interesting to note that Carla Abellana and Maricar Reyes were two of the highest new entries in our poll, 100 Most Beautiful Pinays of 2009. Carla ranked 12th while Maricar ranked 19th.
So who among our only two finalists deserve the title “Fastest Rising Star of 2009?”

marami ngang shows si carla bla bla pero flop naman ahaha di magawang maging no.1 show niya..
