GMA Network Bags 5 Philippine Quill Awards

GMA Marketing and Productions Inc (GMPI) received the Excellence Award for its 2008 GMA Christmas Short Film Festival.

The Philippines Quill Awards is an annual event that recognizes exemplary corporate communications programs and tools in the country. Organized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) – Philippines, the awarding ceremonies was held on October 22, 2009 at the Forum 3, PICC.

Broadcast giant GMA Network remains on track of reaching its yearend net income growth target of 20 percent to P2.8 billion as it finished the first nine months of 2009 with a 10 percent increase in net earnings versus last year.
In a press briefing, the firm said net income jumped to P2.15 billion from the P1.96 billion earned in the same period in 2008 despite the series of calamities that recently struck the country and the global financial crisis that caused a decrease in ad spend among major advertisers.

ang tanga iba ang rev. sa net income…bobo ang net income revenues minus expense..
kung mataas ang expense mo dapat masmataas ang kita mo..
ang gma7 hindi na kailangan na gumastos ng todo para kumita ang abscbn kahit gumastos ng todo wala kita.

In the third quarter, the network’s advertising minutes fell by 6.6% to 25,774 minutes from 27,581 minutes last year. The network said though that its advertising minutes were still higher than those of competitor ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp., which logged a 16.6% decrease in minutes.
GMA Network Chairman Felipe L. Gozon said the company recorded a cutback from big advertisers but noted that smaller advertisers have been taking up the slack. Advertising in October and November has also been picking up.
“So far for November, sales figures for advertising have amounted to P767.9 million and that is only for [Channel 7]. In November 2008, we had P930 million so we will definitely have higher advertising numbers,” said Mr. Gozon.
Gilberto R. Duavit, GMA chief operating officer, said “this quarter is the strongest year-end quarter we have had.”

ano daw ang award ng GMA. bakit 3 sentences lang ang report na ito. siguro kabaduyan award. wahahah.. bat yung sa abs specified yung merit awards nila. enlighten me please. ah siguro BAG of groceries.

gma’s report like its tv rating is not accurate, although gma won 5 awards in quills, they’re not as prestigious as the awards being won by ABS, gma’s awards were minor awards. correction also gma got only 3 nominations, q11 got 1 and although it’s a sis co. of gma, it’s not counted as gma’s nominations. pls check the site of asian tv awards, manloloko ka! d lahat ng tao maloloko mo. the revenue of ABS is still unbeatable, kaya mababa ang net ng ABS because of super bonggang productions, bagay na dapat ibigay sa mga viewers, while gma has very cheap productions, panay cost-cutting no wonder super lousy & dry ang set. over-all ABS-CBN is still the winner, undisputed leader of Phil. TV!

compare ETHERIA ang ganda ng pag kagawa ng kanilang kaharian… i compare mo pa sa DYESEBEL… nice proofs… ang layo ng kahairan ng DIOSA!! hahaha… super ka CHEAPAn…. aminin…
