Philippine pride Charice has been named the newest ambassador of the non-profit worldwide organization Operation Smile.

Operation Smile formally announced Charice as their newest ambassador in the 8th Annual Smile Gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California.
Charice performed “I Will Survive” during the event which marked the last night of Jessica Simpson being an ambassador of the said charity organization. Operation Smile said it was a blessing that Charice joined the organization because she represents the young people.
“Sobrang natuwa sila sa akin kasi parang bagay daw po sa akin ‘yong pagiging youth ambassador. Kasi ang Operation Smile ay isang international organization na nag-start sa Philippines,” Charice said in an interview by ABS-CBN.
Operation Smile is a secular not-for-profit medical service organization based in Norfolk, Virginia (USA), founded in 1982. A secular NGO, the organization provides cleft lip and palate repair surgeries to children worldwide, assists countries in reaching self-sufficiency with these surgeries, and works to reduce the occurrence of cleft lips and palates.
