On April 28, 2007, San Carlos City Mayor Julian Rusuello was shot dead while attending their town fiesta.

During the investigation, three suspects were identified and immediately arrested. After a year however, a new eye witness surfaced and claimed that the murder was politically motivated. He also identified the alleged masterminds of the crime.

Even with a new eye witness and lead, Mayor Rusuello’s family suspects that the investigation is going nowhere.
