After Melanie Marquez placed first runner up in 1986 and Charo Ronquillo placed second runner up in 2005, another Filipina almost won the title of Ford's Supermodel of the World.

16-year-old Chat Almarvez was named the first runner-up in the recently concluded Ford Models Supermodel of the World contest which was held at Sao Paolo, Brazil last January 14, 2010. Out of more the 40 contestants, she almost won the title by placing second to Katrina Karlina Caune of Latvia.

Chat stands 5’9″ is studying Business Administration at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. She bagged a modelling contract worth US$150,000 or PhP 6.9 million.
