The Black Eyed Peas Incorrectly Named Winners at 11th NRJ Awards

The Black Eyed Peas thought they had won best international group at France's top music awards but their name was read out by mistake.

US singer Kesha and French choreographer Kamel Ouali declared the group Black Eyed Peas as Best International Group. They were later embarrassed when no one came up to accept the award.

Ouali then apologized that he has declared the wrong group as he had mixed up looking at the nominees and the actual winner. He received boos from the crowd after explaining what happened.

Tokio Hotel from Germany actually won the award.

The Black Eyed Peas were present at the awards night to perform their hit song I Gotta Feeling at the opening of the ceremonies. At least they did not leave empty-handed as they won later the Best International Song award for the said song.

Last year, another mistake happened when Katy Perry accepted the Best International Song award. The actual winner was Rihanna.
