Bernadette Sembrano Takes Public Service to the Next Level with ‘Salamat Dok’

Bernadette Sembrano brings you practical and relevant information on important health issues every weekend as she becomes the new anchor of “Salamat Dok” beginning Saturday (March 6).

Known as the face of ABS-CBN public service, Bernadette takes on a new challenge on her broadcasting career as she joins this award-winning public service program.

“I’m very happy and at the same time challenged with this new project. I’m glad to be part of a show which shares my ideals and advocacies as a journalist. This is a good opportunity for me to help people in need and at the same time share my knowledge on current health issues which the public should pay attention to and be very much aware of,” said Bernadette.

In 2006, Bernadette hosted the public service program “Nagmamahal, Kapamilya” which featured heartwarming stories of Filipinos abroad and follows their emotional reunions with their families.

Bernadette also leads ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs public service segment “Hulog ng Langit,” airing regularly on “TV Patrol World,” that aims to unite those in need to those who are capable of providing help. The same segment will now be part of “Salamat Dok.”

“Viewers can adopt a patient in this segment. Just like the usual ‘Hulog ng Langit,’ this aims to help indigent Pinoys who need medical help but do not have financial means,” said Production Manager Marielle Catbagan.

“Salamat Dok” begins its Halalan Presidential Healthwatch segment that will check on the presidential candidate’s health issues and conditions. Sen. Dick Gordon is up first this week and he will personally talk about what he eats and what he does to keep himself fit. Gordon will also share his stand on reproductive health and universal health insurance debates.

Meanwhile, the show will still conducting live medical missions packed with a live studio audience every week where they can ask featured doctors on the spot and get answers or advice right away.
