Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) conferred to ABS-CBN Chair and CEO Eugenio Lopez III a Doctor of Humanities degree, honoris causa, at the commencement exercises of PUP held at the World Trade Center.

Lopez was honored for his significant role and contributions to Philippine media and society. In his acceptance speech, Lopez emphasized the power of choice and the importance of responsibility, perseverance, passion, compassion and gratitude.
