26-year-old Nico Antonio is a ballad singer and indie actor. He comes from a clan of scientists and lawyers; his uncle was part of the ‘70s quartet The Rainmakers. An Ateneo high school graduate, he’s now a Law senior at San Sebastian College.
He has appeared in the award-winning films “Minsan Pa” and “Kubrador.” He also played a daring role of a “torero” in the gay-themed indie film “Ang Laro ng Buhay ni Juan.” He sang the theme song “Kahit Isang Saglit” of the indie film Biyaheng Lupa.
Nico is currently seen in the hit comedy movie “Here Comes the Bride” by Chris Martinez as the driver boyfriend of Tuesday Vargas‘ character who later ended up with Eugene Domingo‘s character.
He will soon appear in the big-budgeted musical film “Emir” by Chito Roño and Kim Garcia’s “Magkakapatid” and in a forthcoming ABS-CBN soap.
To top it all, Nico is also part of the ASAP male singing group VOIZboys together with Jay-R Siaboc, Guji Lorenzana and Tom Rodriguez (Ronnie Liang’s replacement). They will launch their 10-track self-titled CD for Quantum Music. He may be the lesser-known member of the group but with all the projects he has for this year, he is definitely making a name for himself.
